Man after my own heart! I looked at the kayak covered in frost a few days ago. "should that go in the basement for the season?" No. I have been out already on several sub freezing mornings, so I feel the finger pain too. That is interesting the nest building behavior you captured. I know bald eagles court in Jan/Feb but this seems early for nest building. do you know if that is common?

I think it is uncommon but last Thanksgiving morning I saw these two working on the nest and even nuzzling up together. But yeah I think they were sitting on eggs sometime in March this past year. They successfully fledged one chick. I may head out here one more time in the kayak before I put it away for the season. I did hear some loons but never saw them.
