Learn the foundations of Eagle Yoga Pose with Adriene! This balancing posture can be challenging at first but offers a long lasting relationship of tending to yourself. Balance, twist, stretch, strengthen and stimulate! Boost focus, concentration and the lymphatic system! The eagle fixes his eye on one point with superior vision and focus. This yoga asana connects us back to the third eye chakra - which stimulates clear vision. We practice eagle pose, or Garudasana, to aide to check in with our concentration and fix our gaze upon one point. This pose requires that you keep tending to it.
As you balance and spin multiple plates (on one leg!) and twist and bend (metaphors galore!) you hold on to your drishti or your gaze and begin to settle in. That third eye chakra of sight and intuition begins to open. The more you tend to the pose - the more likely you are to calm the mind and the clearer your vision becomes. Go deeper! Namaste.

Adriene is so cute! I have difficulty doing the eagle pose well, because I have really broad shoulders and they are stiff as a boot! But it was worth it to see her sing a little and it cracks me up, when she talks about "wind relieving" pose! LOL She's a hoot! Been doing yoga with her since September, did ALL 30 days of yoga with her and I got my t-shirt today! Yay! Find What Feels Good! Love you Adriene!

Is it normal to get a cramp in my foot, the arch of my foot? This time I didn't push it. I stayed where it was comfy an focused on alignment an integrity as well as sensation. I'm loving this. 😊🎶

Hi Adriene, I was wondering If you could put together a video of your most popular yoga foundation videos 45 minutes or so? Intermediate level..ish. I am 3 months into practice with your videos and love your style. You make it fun and you seem to understand us. Sometimes a pose(boat!) isn't very fun and you give us the ok for it to not be perfect! It keeps us coming back to you every time. Thank you.

Eagle pose is one of those challenging ones for me. Not about the balance, but for the leg twist, which some days come very easily and some days just not at all. I also find it a lot easier on my left side than my right side (I'm left-handed and wonder if that has something to do with it)? Thanks for the video!

I have found that sometimes yoga classes can be really rigid and I love that you incorporate your sense of humour into the practice and encourage individual expression. I would love to hear more mantras to use in the poses!! I am trying to figure out how to incorporate meditation into my practice while I am still learning the poses and do the videos!! I don't have the flexibility I really need to do all the poses well and I'd like to tell my body to do that as well as learn to properly breathe. Am I doing something incorrectly when I end up breathing hard in some of the poses or yawning like a python when attempting to deepen my breathing? okay so i tried this last night and my shoulder are killing me should i let them recover before continuing yoga plus first try but i do need this so much so i can walk a little better but i was having a hard time doing it

For this, follow your breath. That is the only rule. Just breathe. When you breathe in and out really doesn't matter at first. My body likes to inhale has I lift and lengthen sometimes and other times it likes to breathe in as I ground and press into the earth. Try some of my flow videos to practice more breath and body coordination! ooxoxo
