The end of an era Madden on CBS & the NFC on CBS.......Golden

The real NFL on CBS, the NFC version. They made NFC football magical and exciting to watch. Unlike Fox, which could care less about the NFC. I wish CBS could get the NFC package back ASAP.

Randall Cunningham started four games against Reggie White's Green Bay Packers. Randall's teams won all four games [2-0 as an Eagle, 2-0 as a Viking].

Question: why was Pat Summerall absent from broadcasting this game? In week 2 on 1992, he didn't broadcast the Cowboys vs Giants game with John Madden.
@Nonsense19865 жыл бұрын
He probably did tennis that day.

Shown at the end here: Sampras vs Pioline US Open final (Summerall 's last one)
@pronkb0003 жыл бұрын
Summerall usually skipped the first 2 weeks of the season as CBS also had US Open tennis coverage. CBS would also typically not have any 4pm games in the first or second week.

Ironically enough, Eagles play the Packers in Lambeau this Sunday. AND it's on the same channel. This, what I'm watching, is the LAST time this game aired on CBS.

Where is Pat? why is Vince calling the game with John? Pat and John was the Best!
@mikefriedrichmedia71836 жыл бұрын
Paul Stephen Duckworth Uncle Verne always called the first few games of the year with Madden, while Summerall would cover the US Open Tennis Championships. Verne was the fill-in for Pat for 8 years, and when Pat went to dry out and missed the month and the start of the playoffs in 1990.

I remember this game 1993 Eagles won 20-17 on game winning field goal by Rodger. But I definitely don't miss those kelly green uniforms. and Rich kotite who was. by far. the worst coach the Eagles ever had

John Dolejsch He accomplished something his predecessor never did. He won a playoff game,
@johndolejsch51026 жыл бұрын
Christian Boddie. Please. are you kidding me that was a ridiculous come back you made. he won a playoff game with Buddy Ryan's Talent that's because Bobby H the Saints quarterback choked. and how did the Eagles do in Dallas the following week. The players hate it playing for kotite. Buddy was a bad coach to. but at least the players respected him. He won with Buddy's Talent. Kotite's drafts were horrible
@cbod146 жыл бұрын
John Dolejsch He actually didn’t have Buddy Ryan’s talent. Keith Jackson wasn’t on the team & Jerome Brown had died the previous Spring. That is a further indictment of Buddy. Kotite won with a lesser team. Buddy lost two home playoff games. Stop romanticizing him. No coach did less with more other than The coach of the Oilers.
@johndolejsch51026 жыл бұрын
Christian Boddie. Omg. I never said buddy Ryan was a good coach I said he was a bad coach. Again I know that Keith Jackson was in Miami and Jerome Brown passed away in 92 before the start of that season. Why are we having a debate about rich kotite. I thought he was the worst coach in Eagles history. Lol. I'm glad those days are over with along with those ugly kelly green uniforms as well. And now we finally have a really good coach a good organization along with great uniforms n a Super Bowl title to talk about and more to come
@VanillaLimeCoke6 жыл бұрын
I love the kelly green uniforms and miss them. Kotite was just so consistent and became predictable after awhile. He drafted Ok players like Charlie Garner and did achieve something buddy Ryan couldn’t do......win a playoff game. 1993 was kind of a heartbreaker when Cunningham and Barnett got injured. The Eagles probably could’ve returned to the playoffs that year. But Ray Rhodes totally destroyed the team. He got rid of all the good players.

Wow the eagles won beat a 9-7 team that year. I think the Cowboys put all that trash back in its place it's a shame the NFL is rigged but I miss real football.
