What’s up John! Every game has its own style of fight. So, in this particular game, I really noticed they went static for 3 big reasons. Basically, 2x2 sets, no motion, with a lot of verts and high/low concepts. #1 They wanted to tempo things. They wanted to get Cleveland on their heels, and speed the game up. They tend to go away from motion when they do this. Probably doesn’t completely excuse avoiding 3x1 stacks, and constantly staying in 2x2 splits, but I think that’s their base offense. I don’t know for sure because I’m not in the room, but judging the tape that’s what it looks like. #2 They don’t always go 2x2 with no motion on RPO plays, but it’s a lot of plays when they do. I did see a few RPO and Option plays with motion, but a lot of them were from static sets. #3 They were attacking the Single High, MOF Closed coverage shell with a lot of Verts, and High/Low concepts. You can make an argument for a post, skinny post, dig, deep in, over, or scissors play attacking the safety across the middle, but is common to throw outside the numbers vs 1-on-1 coverage with these looks. Now, in other games vs two high, that’s a conversation we will have to have if they put that on film again. They do have in breaking routes, but we need to get to them more often on a consistent basis when we get two high looks.

What’s up Unspoken! What they’re going through, as a coach, it’s very tough to correct. It’s an issue of balance, and that’s tough to articulate in meetings. You don’t want to kill aggression, and at the same time you don’t want to dip down into the bottom half of the league in 3rd down conversions. It’s honestly a really tough thing to coach.

Because the Eagles had a game where they had to resign WRs that even they had released simply because all 3 WRs were injured. Been without AJ for most of the games so they didn't have their #1 WR. Dak had those things, Eagles didn't. Give it a few games to get and unfold. You really don't know what a team is until midway through season. The first 4-5 games are basically preseason nowadays

My assessment of the Eagles is as follows…..The Eagles have no identity. They are a RUNNING Team that can throw the ball but they want to be the opposite. 2nd, the Offense is allowing the Defense to dictate to them. The D comes out and show a lot bodies in the box. Jalen barks out the audibles while the clock runs down. The Eagles snap the ball at 0:01 and the Defense jumps into zone and Hurts holds the ball because he’s now confused.

No, it's because they added A.J. brown, Hassan Reddick, linval Joseph, ndomokong suh, javon hargrave and the d line got 70 sacks and the QB draw and rpo was very successful cause it was kinda fresh and teams weren't used to it yet. Now it's not working so much cause defenses have caught on to jalen's bread and butter and now they're taking it away and forcing him to beat them with his arm.
@ksf34553 ай бұрын
@NELL_SCORPIO first off 2022 Eagles OFFENSE was so good because Steichen was there for more than a year every other year the Eagles Offense was Lackluster with Jalen Hurts under center, and that been primarily due to inconsistent coaching. Second Eagles Defense was never really terrible. The main issue with the Eagles was that after the 2017 season, the OFFENSE fell apart, yes there were pieces lost here and there on the defense but all of a sudden Alshon Jeffrey, Carson Wentz were trash, Jay Ajiyi and LeGaurette Blount, and Ahgolor got traded, and all we had was Zach Ertz and a young Dallas Goedard, as the primary bread winners to the Eagles offense, Reagor was drafter to be a WR1 and he was ass, Eagles only started seeing fruition happen in the offense when Smitty got drafted.

@@ksf3455 rambling on about 2017 roster trades was pointless! Lol...and y'all swear steichens offense was something special that's why y'all still to this day keep begging for his return. How's steichen doing in Indianapolis?????? 😂 Like i said...The offense was fresh to the league with Jalen. If you go back and look at the games, you'll see that the offense consisted of a lot of rpo, QB draws and tush pushes. The only difference was IT WAS WORKING BACK THEN. Pay attention to the games now, you don't notice that most of the QB draws now Jalen gets stopped????? He NEEDS that play incorporated into the offense for him. They've been trying to cater that offense to hurts since he got here cause that's who he was in college. Teams have gotten used to him running a lot now so the defensive strategy for defenses is to try and take away his biggest strength which is his legs. Do you know that play that they still run when they fake the run to one side and goedert runs out in the flat toward the sideline and Jalen throws it to him??? That play has been called a lot when steichen was running the show and they still run that play a lot now. They do it with goedert and A.J. Jalen has always been carried by the pieces surrounding him and not the other way around. How has he been without his best friend catching everything he throws even underthrown balls?? He has never been good with a pro style offense consistently standing in the pocket and throwing it. A 1 or 2 read QB who bails clean pockets running to the right sideline or left sidelines and missing open receivers. Why do you think eagles fans have been blaming everyone else like they were the problem and nothing still hasn't changed?? From blaming Brian Johnson and was wrong! Blame Sean desai and Matt Patricia...wrong! Okay we need linebackers...got linebackers..still wrong..we need a wr3 cause I'm tired of quez.... Get Jahan dotson...still wrong! Okay we need CJ Gardner Johnson back...he's the heart of the defense..everyone's scared of him. He comes back missing tackles, giving up td's and getting his ankles broken....wrong again! Get mad at Howie for trading Reddick , then find out about Reddick drama with the jets and then call Howie a genius, now back to blaming Howie again...y'all can't make up y'all minds...the life of the wishy washy eagles fans...now y'all back to begging for Reddick to come back as if y'all forgot that he played when the 49ers blew them out with a healthy purdy and like he wasn't part of that epic collapse. And Now it's siriani.....it's only a matter of time until y'all start to admit what the real problem is... I'll give you a hint ....250 million! QB draws and rpo is what hid his flaws as a consistent passer from the pocket. Why do y'all always cry "run the ball" and complain that the 250 million QB Jalen is throwing too much when he throws it 30 times when Nick foles threw it 43 times in the Superbowl and won it without even running and he didn't even get paid?? 😂 😂 All of that crying and saying "no one is getting open" and they keep calling go routes for all receivers is bs too...wrong again! Watch this video and you'll see that all of his problems in this video is the same problems that he has to to this day. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d52Qq6CjZtl3asUsi=NSw6H8EE3nO9FTxM

@ineedhoez Just because Stiechen was a play caller for one year doesn't mean that Jalen Hurts/Eagles Offense didn't acclimate themselves to Stiechens offensive mind, Nick got put out of play calling in 2022 because of his stale mindset, you saw the result of that in 2023.

I didn't want to admit it because l like Jalen Hurts but we obviously aren't running Kellen Moore's offense because Jalen can't do it. He has had multiple coordinators and coaches but the constant variable is Hurts. He isn't comfortable under center so he isn't under center. He can't go through reads quickly enough to turn his back from the defense so that's why it's always shotgun. It's hurting the running game as well because it would definitely benefit Saquon Barkley to come downhill and the play action game would be in play. Unless they force him to get under center nothing will change and we will have to rely on AJ,Smitty and Saquon to be the amazing players they are and break a couple big plays every week. As soon as the RPO was figured out it was over for us. I would bring that back into the fold in the first quarter and jump on teams that may not be expecting the RPO anymore, get a lead then run the ball.
@CoachHeitter3 ай бұрын
What’s up Jeremy! To be clear, every offense is a mixture of previous concepts, QB preferences, and Incoming Concepts. Last season in Los Angeles, Kellen didn’t have Herbert under center a whole lot either. According to pro football reference, Herbert was under center just 57 times on passes, and 399 times from shotgun. That’s not a heavy under center utilization from the passing game. This goes back to Dak too. On the 2022 season, Dak was under center 95 times on passing plays, and 299 times from shotgun. The year before in 2021, he was under center 120 times. That figure is not a dominant under center offense, but it’s higher than half the league. Those numbers are heavier than what we saw from Jalen in previous years, no doubt! However, neither is a dominant under center offense. I tried to control this narrative during the offseason because I knew people’s expectations were unrealistic, especially year one with a new install. I told everyone Nussmeier, the QB coach, is where the under center stuff really comes from. He was Scott Linehan’s QB in college, and Linehan’s offenses are dominant under center. But I knew it would be a process. You expand week by week. We’re only 5 games into the season. Not to mention, people forget Jeff Stoutland’s role in those too. He is our run game coordinator and O-Line coach. He is not a big under center offense guy, and he wants motioned balanced. He has a young center, a QB new to setting protections, and injuries on that O-Line. When you motion, you invite the front seven to move too and change your blocking scheme when running, and protection scheme passing. Some context is being left out by people. I expect that week upon week, we will see a little more added. Last week, we saw under center runs. I saw at least three, and if we’re getting 3-5 of those per game, it is a wrinkle to the offense.

It's Jalen Hurts my friend. After the RPO was figured out it was over. He hasn't evolved to overcome the league catching on to his game. This isn't because of Nick Sirianni although he isn't helping. To help Jalen Hurts you can't be his buddy. He isn't comfortable under center and that takes more than 75% of the playbook. You can't grow without doing things that AREN'T comfortable so we need someone that isn't scared to tell Jalen his mechanics suck and force him to get good at running the offense from under center. Peewee League players can do it so l would demand that my 53 million dollar professional NFL QB should be able to. Fix that and the Eagles would be great.

@CoachHeitter3 ай бұрын
He does. I’m a big fan of Saquon in this offense, and I still fully believe he can be a difference maker for us. However, dropping a pass that probably closes out the Atlanta game, going out of bounds short of the first, then missing a block on the very next play is really bad. Saquon just can’t be the reason for these type of hiccups. He’s too good of a player to have these kind of mental lapses, and he’s too important to our offense. We need Saquon to fix those little hiccups.

@CoachHeitter3 ай бұрын
They’re all the issue, no singular part deserves more blame or credit than the remaining parts. We can say every team has injuries, but this team offensively had to close a game out missing the entire right side of their line, and both outside receiving threats. Then, it played three games without A.J. Brown, and he’s just getting back into the swing of the offense after missing three games. Chemistry and timing, for a lack of better words, take time. Even in saying that, A.J. Stepped right in and went over 100 yards receiving, and had the play that closed them out. Missing A.J. Brown matters to this offense. Not to mention, down CMC, how has San Fran looked? They dropped games to the Rams and Cardinals. In the one game they played down CMC, Deebo, and Kittle, how did they perform? They lost 27-24, to a 1 win Rams team without Kupp and Puka Nacua in the game. Injuries matter when you’re assessing these things. Also, despite the narrative, has anyone really went to next gen stats and looked over the QB spray charts vs the Browns? What team has thrown the ball over the middle vs that closed defense with any kind of consistency? No one. What might surprise people to know is, Jalen Hurts and surprisingly Daniel Jones have had the best two performances vs that Browns defense. Now, I do think there is a general issue putting the ball over the middle of the field for this offense, especially against two high MOF open coverages. Or, when teams go zero and bring pressure. The offense does need to start hitting teams with hitches, curls, and comebacks on the hashes. But, at the same time, people are missing the context of the coverage shell we played last week, and how you attack it. Both things are true.

If this team was hyper concerned about margin of victory, then yes. Simply put, they don’t have to go into victory formation at the end of the game. They could have pushed for a meaningless 10+ point victory. After all, we did close the game out, at the Cleveland 12 yard line, minute and 49 on the clock, firmly inside the red zone, in victory formation. You’re missing the point of the statement though. Whether we won that game by 4 points, 7 points, or 11 points, I doubt it would have eased the concerns people have for this team. So as I stated in the video, just fixating on a 10+ point win doesn’t necessarily represent the flow of a game. Whether we kneeled it out, played for a FG, or pressed for a TD, the reality of the game flow is not really changed. Perhaps the national media would have it’s story line… first time since Christmas of last year we won by 7+ points, or the first time since October 22, 2023 that we won by 10+ points. It would have still been misleading. Judging all three units performances during the game is a better standard of measurement. The point of that statement was whether we Win by 4, 7, or 11, the reality remains we had real struggles during the game. The margin of victory wouldn’t change our shaky special teams play, the offense would still have went scoreless in the 1st quarter, and the offense would still have some really concerning execution issues. Stepping out of bounds early, missing a blocking assignment, and big plays being averted due to circumstances. Margin of victory doesn’t cancel any of those things out. At the end of the day, I’ll take a 3 point victory where a lot of those issues get cleaned up, over a late surge, 10+ point victory where we have real execution issues. 🤷♂️
