Randy and Bernie never got the credit they truly deserved. Good Lord, Bernie Leadon could play anything with strings on it...guitar, mandolin, pedal steel, auto harp, you name it. And Randy Meisner could hit notes that dogs couldn't even hear. His high falsetto could shatter glass 2 blocks away.
@ClassicTVMan1981X

@@saradollins5142 They did not record it back then (in 1971) because they knew Souther intended to include it on his own self-titled debut album, which came out the same year as the Eagles' own debut release.

@@jonnehayesjr.9299 … yes, they kind of lost that characteristic sound when first Bernie then Randy left. Not many new material or albums were produced after Randy’s quitting in late ‘77, and Eagles became predominantly a band doing covers or re-runs of the hits from when Bernie and Randy were in the band!

I agree. For me, the original Eagles were the best. There was something pure and inspired in their music--and they really delivered. Later incarnations of the band became more sophisticated, but the heart of the band, its greatest, simplest energy, came from the originals.
