You see, there are so many young black folks, who were never exposed to this music, because of cultural differences. It just wasn't played in their households. Now that these young folks are doing reaction videos by request, they are learning about ALL types of music that they never would have heard if not for this. Those of us who are older, and are fans of these older artists, love watching a new generation fall in love with the music we grew up with. The artists who are causing strikes to these reaction channels are destroying that opportunity for them. It's a chance to bring a whole other generation of fans to their music. So it just doesn't make sense to ruin it. It hurts them too.

This will be an unpopular opinion, but here goes. I enjoy learning about music through KZbin. Many reaction channels out there expose me to music I was unfamiliar with, and add to my appreciation by explaining details of the arrangement or instrumentation that I wouldn't have otherwise recognized. However, many of these channels are being copyright struck over and over again, despite most meeting the Fair Use Doctrine guidelines for criticism and adding value to the artistic work. The Eagles, despite being a very talented band that I grew up with, are one of the worst offenders. A five seconds snippet of a song in a "best of" video is enough to unleash their barrage of lawyers. It's cool - you have to protect your ability to make money off of your music. It's why I couldn't argue with Metallica's stance on Napster. But sadly, this situation on KZbin has left a bad taste in my mouth, and the mouths of many other viewers. I know have disdain and distaste for The Eagles, and their zealous bullying of smaller creators is how I will now forever think of them. I know, who cares what one person thinks? But it's not just me. You are exchanging years of goodwill for perhaps a little money and power, and I can no longer support bands that abuse the copyright strike system. I'll show myself out.

Beautiful song. Growing up, I loved music, but it took me a long time to actually learn how to play an instrument. Once I did, this song was one of the first ones I tried to learn. I had the sweetest memory of watching their performance in "Hell Freezes Over", and the way Don Henley did the percussion using the back of his guitar, and the way Glenn Frey sounded. How his voice taught me how to feel things that I had never experienced myself. An absolute classic, timeless, always relevant, always touching.
