Link just the mere fact that she LET you hold her phone and go thru her photos shows you're a great dad. Not that my parents aren't great but if they went through my photos, losing memories would be the least of my worries. To save the sanctity of our relationship, they will NEVER see my photo folder. 😅

I use Google photos and each member gets their private cloud space. I can't see my wife's or daughter's photos unless they share them. The only thing that makes it a group is that one person pays the bill and everyone gets the benefits

Some people are really conflating the fact that taking pictures and miss "living in the moment" is a completely different issue than the value that photos have to people. Just like how I enjoy sitting with my grandparents to go through an old photo album, I also love to reflect on the moments of my life with my partner through the photos on my phone. Also, if someone says something is important to them, that's all that really matters. Who are you to judge what people care about

I am a fellow 21yo woman with a lot of precious memories in my phone, namely a lot of pictures of my pets that I have loved and lost and memories that are once in a lifetime. I update a flash drive with my memories every time I switch carriers or upgrade phones or whatever else. I had one "Oh shit" moment when I swapped carriers because my pictures were backed up to one of the old carrier's backup and I didnt remember if my google account had synced with it or not, luckily it had, but that was after a pretty rough loss for me and I wouldve lost my mind if I lost the only pictures Id ever be able to have of my girl before she passed, so now I have 2 storage app things along with saving to a flash drive just in case something goes wrong with the apps.

It is because you, being a nervous person, like I am as well. Cortisol is rushing through your body all of the time and then when you get really upset about something...your body goes into full survival mode and your body functions just shut down for a bit. That's why your stomach was hurting. I have the same thing happen to me. Lol

Rhett, if you haven't been to the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis, you *gotta* check it out when you're back there. It's the 2nd largest in all of North America, and has amazing special exhibits and even a research library. I've used their online research portal to look up plants I'm now considering planting in my new country in Costa Rica even! Wonderful place, really. Just don't take any seeds from there.

In high school I was in a musical that was supposed to be recorded and when the person went to review the footage after all of the shows were over there was something wrong with the camera and all of the footage was somehow corrupted … I always thought about how bad the guy must’ve felt when he realized 😭 he literally recorded them for us every single year and never wanted to do it again after that

Am I the only one that feels no connection to pictures? I have photos of trips and such but when I see them my reaction is “yeah, I remember that”. Maybe a part of my brain just works differently. I do feel nostalgic when I go to places I’ve been before, or listen to music that I relate to an experience or a memory, but photos and videos do nothing for me.
