I've noticed this Orei 935 has introduced lip sync issues. Before hooking up the Orei, my Sonos Arc and nvidia shield were hooked up to my tcl R625 (ARC Only) and it worked without lip sync issues. DTS on the other hand was a bit inconsistent but DTS was the only outlier in this case. Also, you lose all smart home tv control features that you get with your Sonos Arc since it is no longer directly hooked up to your devices, so beware you lose a lot of voice command options that you could normally use with your tv and streaming boxes. Last but not least, the volume increments do not sync up with what the tv OSD displays and what the Sonos APP show. My tv shows my volume goes up or down by a value of 1, but the Sonos app shows it is going up and down in increments of 2. If anyone has any remedies for the above I'm all ears, otherwise I hope this helps shed some light on what you're walking into if you have a Sonos Arc.

I bought Orei HDA-935 and I want to connect my Mac mini to it and to my soundbar for watching movies with atmos but I can’t get atmos sound only PCL signal and only when I connect the device via usb-c port on my Mac

Recently installed this and it’s working great. One question though. Is there any way of having the Orei automatically switch audio settings when you change inputs? For example I want my BLU-RAY player to always be in 5.1 mode and my Apple TV to be in 7.1. I currently have to go behind my TV and manually push the button on the back of the Orei to do this.

Unfortunately, currently, there is no way to change the audio format automatically as soon as the input changes.

i bought the hda 931 and i can,t listen dolby atmos with my sonos arc. i bought it because i don,t have an hdmi earc port on my tv and when i put the hda931 between the apple tv and the sonos and i only listen pcm 7.1 my connections are ok, my cables are 2.1 and in the apple tv dolby atmos is on. if i put the hda in 5.1 i receive dolby 5.1 but in 7.1 i receive pcm 7.1

What do you do if you want to watch and listen regular TV as well? the setup would only provide sound from the device to the soundbar? Would tv app audio go back to the soundbar too?

Can you please help confirm if both eARC connected to soundbar and Digital optical to amplifier will output the sound at the same time and in perfect sync (like no lag whatsoever) ?

HDA-935 offers a total of three inputs compared to just 1 input on the HDA-931.

I have an Apple TV 4K, but my old Samsung UHD TV has a regular HDMI (no ARC and no eARC). I am planning to buy Sony HT-A9. Can this product of yours help me to get Dolby Atmos surround sound from HT-A9? I am fine with UHD 4K picture, but I am more concerned about Dolby Atmos sound output.

HT-A9 has an HDMI input. You can just use that input for your source and will get full uncompressed atmos audio. The input is HDMI 2.1 compliant.

I will be inputting a 1080p game console and a 4K streamer to the Orei's HDMI inputs then outputting the HDMI signal for video to an non eARC input of a 4K monitor for viewing. My question is will the 7.1 HDMI audio signal output from the Orei sent to a non ARC capable AV receiver be decoded? Thanks

Hi. I have a Samsung s95b TV that does not pass through dts audio to my soundbar. (Samsung hw-q950) when using plex on my Xbox series x. Can I connect my Xbox to this device and get the picture from my Xbox on my TV and the dts sound (dts HD, dts x, dts HD may) directly to the soundbar without going through the TV? If I can, will this device pass through 4k 120 Hz for game playing on the Xbox?

The HDA-935 would work for your intended setup but it only supports up to 4K@60Hz.

Update: After switching to an high speed HDMI cable, it works kinda??? Still cant get the eARC led to light out on the box, but the SONOS app shows DOLBY ATMOS. So I guess I am keeping this device. Thank you.

Will it output audio to all outputs simultaneously? I need it to output earc and optical at the same time, one for my sonos sound bar and one for my receiver. I have this working currently with another device, but I lose surround passthrough on the soundbar

For your setup, you will need the HDA-939 which supports Downmixing. It can deliver surround sound to your soundbar and simultaneously deliver 5CH audio through Optical to your Receiver. Please note: you will need a soundbar with an HDMI INPUT port not an ARC/eARC port in order to work with this.

I see on the setup going from none earc hdmi tv to earc soundbar and or none earc receiver. Does this give you uncompressed atmos to either the soundbar or receiver? It seems confusing to me. So many questions.

@@OREI-COM OK, my 2nd question is how does the TV or Receiver get uncompressed sound, is it only through a Blu-ray player. As it seems cable only offers compressed video/sound, yes? If so im taking it the Blu-ray player also needs to be earc, yes? I also understand ears isn't true uncompressed, yes?

Disappointed with this product, most of the time voice/video is not coming and have to reset the box, changed the cables and have tried almost everything ... also contacted OREI support but it was also a disappointment. Am using Xiaomi 4K S media box with Samsung 7 series TV and Klipsch flex 200 sound bar.

Yes… I’ve managed to get it to work. Since I’m using my dell monitor and a fire tv 4K, it only managed to produce 5.1 sound. I’m yet to subscribe to Disney plus and Apple TV 4K. Hopefully I be able to enjoy Dolby Atmos
