EARDINGTON STATION 150 CELEBRATIONS.

Eardington Station first opened on June 2nd 1868 mainly to serve two nearby forges. On June 1st and 2nd 2018 a celebration took place which happily coincided with the centenary of Churchward 2-8-0 No. 2857. The fact that the 2nd also marked my 80th birthday is incidental, to all except me and my family. Blessed with warm sunshine on both days the event was a great success.

Alan, your description understates the success of your video with typical modesty. Having already seen the 2857 centenary video, a PC hardware problem has prevented proper viewing of videos, so there's been a considerable delay in watching this highly interesting and complementary sequel; a thoroughly enjoyable (and successful) first test following my repair work. As trains got longer it became less practicable to restart on a i in 100 gradient. The stretch from Bridgnorth to Hampton Loade is the longest run without a passing loop hence it dictates the time lapse between north and southbound trains on most of the line. Stopping at Eardington only extends this time further. It is hoped to occasionally stop short trains during special events.
