I made these but I was allergic to almonds, I searched the web and no nut-free recipes looked similar to the real thing, so I made my own! I ground up pumpkin seeds until they resembled the consistency of the almond flower and I did the rest how you usually would, THEY WERE DELICIOUS! My friend said that they even tasted better than when made with almond flower! ~~For anyone allergic to almonds~~ ENJOY :)

I just made these (first time making macarons) and they came out perfect, feet and all! I replaced the earl grey with two bags of Twinings Blackcurrant Breeze, and added five drops of blue food coloring, and piped them out oblong, so that they turned out looking like little robin’s eggs. Super cute!

So I tried making this recipe and overall, it turned out pretty great! I loved the subtle hint of earl grey, it gave a very warm feeling. I have some notes that I think I should add: • The honey for me was a bit overwhelming, so next time I will only put 2 tbsp of honey instead of 3 (but this is solely personal preference on taste) • I would've loved a bit more early grey flavour (again, solely just personal preference) so next time I'm planning to add a 1 1/2 tea bags of earl grey • When I made the filling, I let it sit in the fridge for about an hour and it was still kinda melting when I filled the macarons, so I decided to leave the macarons with the buttercream filling in the fridge for a few hours and it was really good • I'm not too sure if it was the way I mixed (overmixed or undermixed) the macronage, or maybe it was the oven, but when I baked it at 300ºF for about 12 minutes, the shells were hollow (still a bit soft and crunchy, but very hallow); I'm thinking I may need to bake it less like for 8-10 minutes instead? • You've already mentioned this but there was a lot of buttercream filling left, so I decided to make another batch of macaron shells to finish the filling

Greetings from Toronto! I could tell by the way you pronounce macaron that you were probably from Canada, then I looked up your page that said you are from northern Ontario so I knew for sure. I love the French language. I put all three of my kids in French immersion and two of them now have university French degrees. Oh and by the way lol, I loved your video too and will be making these for next weekend. I just tried this for the first time and they looked great until i took it off the parchment paper and most of them stuck to it. Needless to say they r ruined. I did however tried the broken shells and OMG they were WAY too sweet; even without the butter cream filling. I think my second batch will have 3 Tbs of granulated sugar instead of 5.
@XDXDkairi7 жыл бұрын
Hilary Hong you don’t want to add any kind of oils to the macarons, it will ruin them, I use a silicone mat like in the video, or you have to let it cool a bit more before taking them off the parchment paper.

They will rise up slightly but should not spread almost at all. That is why you let them dry a bit, the "skin" that forms on them helps stops the spreading and forces them up, the little frill that forms around the edge is cause by that process.
