This is the first Earl album I’ve listened to and it didn’t really resonate with me, some good songs, especially 2010, but it didn’t connect with me. It just felt off the whole time
@Shittyrapper
@Shittyrapper 2 жыл бұрын
@@nbabackcourtmedia i didn’t really start to like most of his stuff after 2015 until after a few relistens of each of those projects and I’m a huge earl fan. His first three projects, EARL, Doris, and I Don’t Like Shit I Don’t Go Outside, have more of a mainstream appeal while also being very unique projects which is what I came to expect from him then he released his album which is considered by most of his fans to be his best and it’s also his most experimental called Some Rap Songs and I immediately heard it and thought what the hell is this shit earl. This ain’t the fire music I was expecting from you but then I relistened to it and I realized hey this shit is pretty good and more and more relistens and suddenly it’s my favorite album of all time. His albums are so jam packed with deep poetic messages that it’s pretty much impossible to digest them on the first listen and I noticed that with SICK! as well. If you want to get into his discog I would recommend starting with his earlier stuff and working your way up and it’ll ease you into his more experimental style as they just get more and more experimental as they go. If you say listen to one of his albums twice and really take it in and you aren’t captivated by it though Earl just prolly ain’t for you and that’s alright. Everyone has their tastes.

all those feet of clay and SRS flows are panning out wonderfully. This sounds like coming out of a depression. There’s just sprinkle of greatness about Earl. Beat switches, production and lyrics wise. There’s always something you catch even after 2nd , third listen or even when you come back and listen after a few years. He may not be mainstream now but his music will stand the test of time for sure. I see older me listening to him for nostalgia and younger generations listening for solace and directions.

“Zel” it’s ZELOOPERZ!!! I’m surprised you haven’t heard him before he has another song with Earl called Easter Sunday. He’s a pretty abstract rapper, fun, drug influenced. He’s from Detroit and be with Danny brown. also a painter which is a theme that shows up in his music often Van Gogh’s left ear was his last album

I rly wanna hear Tyler produce a song for Earl. Obvious with their long friendship, I feel like the chemistry would still be there. Also CMIYGL had that very Westside Gunn, Freddie Gibbs feel with some songs, and Earl has rapped over those kinda beats a ton of times. If not a T production with Earl, then a feature from one of them on the other's track.

I appreciated SRS’s content as far as lyrical ability 10/10. But this album finally puts good listenable beats with that content which is awesome.
