Earl is always paying tribute to South African greats such as Hugh Masekela, and his own father too, Keorapetse Kgositsile. The reason I know about Vince Staples is because once Earl talked about how he was the most talented lyricist he knew. I always listened to his flow and lyrics closely after that and he really is one of the most underrated rappers alive. I think he's one of the top 10 best rappers of all time. His music videos for Primmadonna and Senorita are absolutely brilliant. I really hope he gets a Grammy one day and gets the respect he deserves from the community. It's not enough for the level he's on. Earl is also a legend.

As someone who grew up with nineties rap and after the legendary years so often despaired, hearing years of shit like gUnit, Puffy Combs etc, hearing this is so heartwarming. These are rappers that lift bars and just pass them over like it's a game. It's so great to hear this.
