Hi! Can you cite your sources? I find this history fascinating but wish there was "further reading." I appreciate the changes made for clarity or brevity, but would like to know where to go to dive into this history more deeply.

Don't forget the NorthWest Company, such an important part of the fur trade.

I found a HBC shotgun shell in BC! Thing could be 150 years old! Can’t find even one pic of it anywhere

0:36 This makes me incredibly sad. Why couldnt it have gone this way instead of what ended up happening later? 1:51 Oh no how dare people who go to a "new" place adopt customs of people who were already living there and who knew how to live with the specific local conditions? Cant have a cultural exchange that benefits both sides.

I’d like to think that even today, as both a Shuswap (Secwepmectsin) and Okanagan (Syilx) we still believe white people are good, and we can all benefit, but it _needs_ to be on equal footing. But we need to make a change, and soon.

As someone with both white and native ancestry I think there needs to be a change and equal benefit. I just dont know everything that would have to be done to settle this fairly once and for all. The whole situation is not great for people like me either because maybe im wrong but the way I see it this affects me too. I have documents to prove my ancestry but everyones initial reaction is to always assume im lying so i very rarely tell people that im "part" indigenous

I am very upset that you have not reported the exact words from this letter...This is very English colonialism.
