The upper Deleware is a awsome trout fishery! Big wild bows and browns and a bug factory! And yes there are big trout that are strong fighters! I hit a green drake hatch one evening and caught 6 wild browns over 20 inches! For every one i caught most would come up and refuse the artificial green drake. Alot of sulphurs that day also. Can't wait to go back some day.

I grew up in Roscoe don’t be fooled the fishing is not that great! First the rivers most of the year are very shallow and the fish for the most part are small trout! If you do go fishing ask a local where the junction pool is. It is down by the school football field and where the two rivers meet and deep water where the bigger trout have been caught in years past! However be careful several people have drowned while wading in the water because it has a quick drop off to deep water as well as a underwater undertoe! Another place is under the bridge in Craig E Clair which also has a old historic castle off to the left of the bridge! Most of the land up there had been bought up by city people and posted no trespassing and the people up there can be assholes so beware of this also! However don’t let them run you off the banks or walking up or down stream because they don’t own that!

I'm over in NJ and have been eyeing this place. So is it not worth it taking the 2 hr drive?

@@daddymcsnacks_561 I hear in the past couple years ever since Roscoe got national news media coverage that they have been stocking the streams. There are so many places to fish but you want to look for areas that have some deeper waters! You will catch fish and you will be in the heart of the Catskills mountains Gods country so for that alone it’s worth the ride. However don’t expect prize winning trout to go home with unless you just happen to hit the right spots! Go into town and go into Darbees fly fishing store and ask where the Dundas castle is it’s not far from town then you will see signs for beaver kill covered bridge fish to the right of the bridge! Great spot!!

Honestly though, I’ve lived on the Great Lakes and I’ve lived in the Catskills. These “big rainbows” aren’t big whatsoever. The Great Lakes has a much more abundant trout fishery, and the fish are huge. Spend your money on a Great Lakes guide, not a Catskill guide.

there are much bigger fish to be had on the big D. they caught nice fish. Don't get all the negative comments here? Just enjoy the fishing.
