Early Ford Bronco Koenig PTO Winch Operation

Have the same Koning PTO winch and bumper bumper set on my 1956 Willy's CJ-5. These were factory/dealer options on a lot of vehicles before the trend to electric. I love them because you literally can't burn them up like an electric winch.

I kid you not I thought you had an automatic transmission in that beautiful bronco, but when I saw that the bronco was a column shift I was baffled because not once in my life have I seen a column shift bronco. I've seen it a lot on 67 f100s and studebakers and even hudson hornets, but not on a bronco. It really surprised me. (in a good way.)

So your PTO is on the transfer case, and you use reverse in the transmission to put slack in the line?

any ideas where i can get one? i have the bumper, and the unit on the transfer case... i just dont have the bumper unit or the shaft to the transfer case or the pto shifter.

They're on Ebay often. It's called the Koenig King winch. With enough research you can get any of the parts you need too. The only thing that cannot be found easily is the shifter boot.

i say yes pto stronger faster than electric winch because using engine output

Not in this case, the Dana 20 Transfer case needs to be in Neutral to allow the PTO to be engaged and thus preventing any power being applied to the front or back driveshafts.

Yes u have to disengaged 4x4(transfer case) to neutral right? Not 4H or 4L my friends have modified transfer case hilux for pto output!

The 205 can do it pto with wheels pulling to sometimes makes the difference from ripping the tree out
