With the map open, click the right stick to orient the map with the north to the top of the screen. For me that helps a lot when finding my way.

If you can get I-bui, if it has any neutral Nature, evolve it into either E-fi or Burakki-, and its Synchro Ability will have each Pokémon you get match the leading Pokémon's Nature. You can be able to up your Pokémon's stats properly.

One more tip I can share that I've been using ever since the future came out Surprise trade I love it I have successfully obtained all the starters by shoving off all the pokémon I caught early and I got them all before I even left the first pokémon center. I have done this in every version that has had surprise trade as soon as I could because it's how I have successfully obtained the starters in every game that's had it(Now you don't have to do this cuz it is time-consuming it took me three hours of just sitting there spamming trade at the pokémon center, But it felt so worth it)

I'm over here used to yellow, red, crystal on GB/ GBA and Ruby version. But already like 3 hours in tonight and absolutely love it. However I noticed in Pokemon sword and shield. The creativity isn't there anymore. But as much as I don't like majority of the "New Pokemon" in Scarlet/ Violet. I'll still catch and release all that are trash. Like Avalugg, or that rock one. We're Not talking about onyx or Regirock either. It's literally a boulder with legs. Lmao. I still love the new style. Definitely different and holding my interest.

I need some quick advice if someone can please reply. For some reason I’m unable to press pause. It worked normally at first, then it just stopped… I assumed it was just because I was being pursued by wild pokémon but I’m now outside the cave after feeding the legendary and still can’t press pause. Because of that, I can’t swap my team around or heal them outside of battle. Is this a bug, or am I missing something?

Tip: if you want the grass or water starter maybe get scarlet for the fire legendary. Otherwise if you get the fire Pokémon you will have some overlap. If you get violet it won’t matter as much which you get bc your legendary is electric dragon. Unfortunately I messed up and accidentally chose the grass cat on violet when I meant to do it on the other game. Oh well will just get a different fire Pokémon but later when I also buy scarlet I will run into the 2 fire problem now bc I don’t want the duck.

The best starting tips would be to find a way that you can play this not on the Nintendo switch because my God are they both terrible on the switch if there's a way that you can play these on the steam deck do yourself a favor and play them on that so that you don't get disappointed and feel like you wasted your money
