Yes BFC, the numbers get confusing because of military versions, later variants and name changes… DC-9 went on to MD-80, MD-90 and Boeing 717. I had to draw the line somewhere and I made the mistake of drawing the line inconsistently. I should have come up with a better way… Thanks for the comment.

Second photo of "Tu-104" is actually Tu-124

0:46 National Airlines out of Miami, FLA. National would change it's livery to the Sun King in 1966 and call themselves the sunshine airline.

When I first flew a commercial flight with my ''then fiancé'' in 1985, there were ashtrays built in the armrest of every seat. Smoking had been banned for years already, but the seats in most planes never got swapped out for years after. Flying the states as a tech rep in the late 90's into 2000's, they were long gone, but a few times people have tried to smoke in the lavatory and set off the detector . . . . not a good moment.

FYI, Smoking wasn't banned on U.S.domestic flights until 1988.

​@@douglasdixon524 I met my wife in '85. Within the first year we met, maybe 1-1/2, we flew to Fla, there was definitely no smoking. Doesn't mean it was nationally, but Manch NH to Boston . . . No Smoking.

My first flight was on the PanAm Jet Clipper Virginia I still have a Napkin, Guatemala City To New York City february 26 1977.
