Fish point defiance for 35 years used to live right up the street. Exactly where you're at in about 2:40 ft I was mooching one day and that's a little deep I was just about at the end of my drift and I hooked up. I've never been spooled in my life until then. And I've caught 40 plus pound Chinook fish Rivers Inlet back in the day so I know big Kings. By the time I could get the boat started and get it in gear that fish should take in 300 yards and I couldn't stop it. About three wines from the bottom of the spool I put my thumb on it and locked it up. Well we all know what happened there was a loud bang. And about that time I saw the hugest chrome shape somersaulting 8 ft out of the air heading towards vashon island towing 300 plus yards of 20 lb line. Every year almost they'll get one of them 40 plus fish. Probably Chambers fish there's a few big ones still go up two carbon hatchery. But likely a Chambers Creek fish? Good times good memories thanks for sharing that

That sure sounds like a good time! Even with the snap.

Good video, good job landing those fish by yourself. Penn reel on a Shimano rod is sacrilegious though

I’m looking for a good size of boat to go fishing on Puget sound. What size and make your boat is? Thanks!

That’s funny, you’re right probably one of the last for awhile. 13 has been putting out fish.

@@kensfishingtails What are some good spots for jigging in 13?
@kensfishingtails2 жыл бұрын
@@nattybumppo4151 best advice I have is watch how the tidal movement pushes the bait around different points/bars on some of the islands. Then find steep drop offs and holes with sonar and charts and try those.

time to install a net rod holder up by your windshield where it angles forward

What do you think of the Dodgers with the blinking built in? How many inches between dodger and hoochi?
@kensfishingtails2 жыл бұрын
Hey there, I think the dodgers with the lights are great, especially when targeting deeper fish. I haven’t noticed a difference in hook up rate though from traditional dodgers. Also it’s hard to keep the light working if your cruising close to bottom. I have one and it died pretty quick.

You need two people fishing kings, you’re too busy trying to run the boat, instead of playing your fish
