Cam Ward was missing a run game and oline, Miami was missing a consistent baller at qb. They got each other, they subscribe heavily to the culture. They’re not concerned with a little noise or anything that UF brings to the table. Miami will dominate the line of scrimmage and mertz will need to play hero ball with no run game and constantly collapsing pockets, and we all know he’s not like that. He’s more of a manager, and those type of QBs need wide receiver depth and an elite run game which they don’t have. Gators’ main problem was clearly the defensive secondary from beginning to end of last season. I think with the solid hires during the offseason and the relative optimism overall should give me hope that the Gators won’t be just absolutely bewildered when they face Miami’s elite defensive line. I realize this is a new team a different year but the swamp is no more difficult to play at than Louisville or playing at Washington or Oregon in regards to Cam Ward. And yes, every team has weaknesses and I never said otherwise. What, I should up on the yearly U train that we are back every year and say the U is back and they gonna whoop on the Gators it's not even going to be a contest. You are breaking in new additions out of the portal at QB, C, RB, WR, and 6 guys on defense at every level in their first game in a rivalry game that they just got introduced to and in the Swamp with +90k fans. This would be daunting for anyone, especially for a new QB and C in their first game together, I would give the edge to the home team. I live in Miami, so if Gator fans are arrogant, you surely give us a run for our money. I'll leave it at that. But I would say it will be an interesting game, looking forward to it and still believe the Gators should manage to pull a W in the opener at home.

@RALPHMITCH10 Yes, you are right on losing to Arkansas last year. They caught us slipping after a draining loss the week before to Georgia. But I wouldn't necessarily call them a worse team than Miami now. Surely, we can't yet compare those 2 teams together since this new version of Miami hasn't played yet, but if not playing in the SEC, they could have ended it up with a better record. They were in games with LSU and Alabama.
