Thank you for your kind and matter of fact way of explaining this horrible disease and how to care for your loved one. My mom has vascular dementia and you have been very helpful to me.

I have been tentatively diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia. I don’t have hallucinations yet. But I am experiencing failure in involuntary matters. I experience rapid and dangerous drops in Blood Pressure and bowel disfunction., heart rate, and others. My systolic (upper) bp drops down to 70s or 80s, and the diastolic (lower) bp into the high 30s to 40s. Then my bp just returns to normal. Extreme constipation is another thing I deal with. All of this in addition to the memory and cognitive issues.

Thank you for this. My mother was diagnosed with Parkinsons last year and Lewy Body Dementia in the autumn 2023 although she doesn't experience delusions or hallucinations which you said can be symptoms of LBD. From your brief summary of each dementia her behaviours seem common to Alzheimers, vascular dementia and FTD. Her short term memory is not good, she struggles expressing herself or finding words. Is this aphasia? She takes a long time to write simple things down although she does persevere. She's always used a diary to record what's happening in her life either in the future or what has happened. She isn't able to plan or problem solve any more. Cannot use electronic devices such as her laptop to read and reply to emails, surf the web or operate most household appliances such as washing machine or microwave or tv remote although she can turn the tv on with it and press the numbered buttons but anything more, no. Cannot manage her finances or tackle administrative tasks. Lacks empathy of her actions or what or how she says things and how they might affect others. Can be very extreme in her reaction to events or behaviour towards her that she feels are a threat or she is displeased with or she cannot understand. She has lashed out at me in the past on quite a few occasions although not recently since she has been given medication and is in a care facility. She has fallen a 4 or 5 times in recent years. On 3 occasions this has meant injury, head injury requiring hospital treatment and care. Following her most recent fall almost one year ago she spent several months in hospital recovering as she was in a bad way when she was found and it was touch and go whether she would pull through, but she has and is largely better now albeit with Parkinson's diagnosed for which she is being medicated and also dementia. As I say she is now in a residential care home. Watching your video and listening to you describe the various symptoms of the main types of dementia I feel there are definitely common symptoms across f the main ones making it hard to truly identify which one she or indeed some one might be suffering. A neurology consultant said she was suffering from Parkinsons with LBD but I am not so sure that it is LBD. Maybe Alzheimers with FTD dementia. Do you ship your book to the UK or is it available through Amazon? Many thanks again for your video.

Wow! Once again, you nailed getting the message across like a boss…. Thank you Debbie!!! To the sounds of things, seems as if my mom has a combination of both vascular and LBD… Is that even possible?

Wait! I can include FTD to her Dementia, because she has each and every symptom you mentioned.

She will not answer questions here, I am sorry. I have been down this road with her. Try CDP for some direction.
