Those girls swinging were in 1902, 8 to 10 years before my grandparents were even born, they were my great grandparents' generation while young adults. My grandparents have now been passed on since the 1990s and early 2000s. It's so interesting when I really think about it, just how long ago, close to 120 years ago, it was. And it really does look like people had more simple pleasures and were less complex back then. I liked seeing those beautiful old fashioned women at the swings, in those beautiful floorlength dresses

Incredible... I wonder how how much work they had to put to do all of this with the low level of film technology in that time

I always find fascinating, although a bit macabre, that everyone in these films is most certainly dead.

For that matter, a lot of the actors who were in colour movies of half a century later are also dead.

I swore that the derby was in 1913 because that’s when Emily Davison was trampled by the King’s horse which is why people are running on the field

Wonderful classics. I also love those sweet old fashioned women on the swings in their beautiful floor length dresses, which women all wore back then, and you never saw men not wearing a suit and tie, the world was so much classier back then, and they had values that have become almost extinct in the 21st century

GatorGladiator What are you talking about?
@alvexok5523
@alvexok5523 4 жыл бұрын
@@fluffyseals9571 , GatorGladiator is right about how blacks didn't have the rights and freedoms they do today. The world had problems, but there were things that were better back then in comparison to today, and that's what I was mentioning up top. GatorGladiator is not right about nostalgia being dumb, there's nothing wrong with liking the idea of an older, classier, more quaint, and more simple time such as the world of 100 years ago. Also, see my response to GatorGladiator

@@BardFromEntry, there is still racism and prejudice today, people just hide it better and are more two faced now. There is still plenty of hate today. There are more religion haters than ever today in a more athiest than ever society. People today are more hung up than ever about looks and the unattractive get more prejudice than ever. So instead of blacks getting segregated, it's now the religious believers and the physically ugly people getting the hate, so people really aren't nicer today, they've just changed who to unfairly hate. And 100 years ago, at least people had more class and values. And more simple. And people can't even say anymore how the medical world has gotten much better. 100 years ago we had a widespread flu outbreak with many deaths, now we have the COVID-19 outbreak with many deaths
