I wasn't successful growing stevia from seed. I think I have a few seeds left and will give it another try. I'm aware the germination rate is normally low. Do you have any secrets to share?
@YAJESGARDEN7 ай бұрын
I think there are two big things that will impact germination apart from seed viability. When you nurse the seeds, do NOT cover them. Just press the seeds down lightly to make contact with the soil. The plant is also temperature sensitive. Start seeds indoors or wait until all dangers of frost have passed before you sow your seeds. Hope that helps! Sending Blessings of bounty

@@YAJESGARDEN Thanks for sharing. Also, if you happen to sell your stevia seeds, I would consider purchasing. I look forward to checking out your channel.

Yiaje, please I need help. My garden has been infested by pests eating up my Tete (known as green) in southern Nigeria. What do I do?
@YAJESGARDEN5 ай бұрын
So sorry to hear. You probably have army worms or caterpillars. There seems to be a huge problem of army worms infestation for most gardens this year. If “something” is suddenly eating the leaves of your greens, tomatoes, njama njama etc, it’s likely armyworms. 🐛 Please act swiftly!! Armyworms can be quite destructive in a vegetable garden, but with proper identification and treatment, you can manage them effectively. Here are some steps to spot and treat armyworms in your garden: Spotting Armyworms Armyworms are caterpillars that can vary in color, typically green, brown, or black with stripes running down their sides. They are most active during early morning and late evening. Look for chewed leaves, stems, and fruits. They often feed in groups and can quickly defoliate plants. Treating Armyworms 1. Manual Removal: Handpicking: Regularly inspect plants and remove armyworms by hand. Dispose of them in soapy water to kill them. 2. Neem Oil: Spray neem oil on affected plants. It disrupts the life cycle of armyworms and acts as a repellent. 3. Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt): Bt is a natural bacterial insecticide that is effective against caterpillars. Spray it on the foliage where armyworms are present. It is safe for plants, humans, and pets.
