tbh, this makes the stoppage seem even more early. Not necessarily a bad stoppage, but early (not all early stoppages are necessarily bad). Rolling to avoid punches to me is a sign of still intelligently defending oneself. Chances of Sean letting him recover are pretty low, but as a champ I feel like Marc Shouldve let Aljo work in the turtle for a little bit
@WhyIsItSoHotOut7 ай бұрын
I'd think rolling to his stomach like that puts him in a more vulnerable position where he can no longer defend from much of anything other than punches to the face. I almost see it as kind of a submitting position because he can no longer fight back from that position. Just kind of sitting there waiting for the stoppage. I do agree though when it comes to championship bouts or fights where an undefeated record are in play, I'd like to see the ref hold out a bit longer just in case some miracle happens.

It looks even more like an early stoppage from this angle! I guess it comes down to what your idea of an MMA fight should be. Should it be called after a set number of unreturned strikes or should it continue until one fighter can’t defend themselves effectively or has sustained too much damage. Sterling clearly had a lot more in him.
