Early Summer Perch And Pike, [Fishing The River Barrow]

Hi guys, I had about 2 hours to go out for a short session and it was very interesting a few nice fish caught and a few missed. Really looking forward to getting back out in a few days.

Cheers buddy, yea definitely a must have in the lure box and I always have a lot of the fox rage lures around to. You should try their zander pro shads, it's definitely a favourite lure of mine.

I assume the perch school up like they do here, so once you find one you can do some damage in a 2 hour session. Good fishing, dude.

Cheers DPuck, yea they do buddy, when you catch one you can normally catch anywhere from 10 to 100 in a few hours

Hey bud, really enjoy your videos on our wonderful river. I was talking to you a while back where you work, I was telling you I mainly carp fish, but I really want to get into the lure fishing. My son bought me the Black Max combo, which I loaded with 20lb braid. Would that be suitable? And do you use a wire trace? Thanks.

Hi Colin, yea I remember you saying about the Carp fishing alright, yea the black max is a good rod, I think it 15 to 45g casting weight, if it is is a good rod for light pike lure and a bit on the heavier side for perch but you will still get them. I do use a wire trace even when perch fishing as you catch a lot of pike on the small lures to. What are you going to be targeting the most?

Neither in particular, I just fancy the idea of getting out for a few hours after work. What size jig heads should I go for with the fox rage or shad teez?

@@colinoneill5468for the ShadTeez in 3cm I use a 3 or 5g jig head on a size 2/0 and on the fox rage mini fry they come with the jig heads but some don't and they normally go well with a 5g size 1/0
