Your message is most likely a good one, and a very real one. But since we're AT the tipping point, it's nearly impossible for someone to take in 1 hour of this and remain "relaxed" through it. If nobody is gonna come up with an idea, then we just have to do it ourselves. Stop burning things (fuel in your car, electricity wasting for comfort not strictly needed, etc.)... Lets just be glad we're not "forced" by government to do anything yet, and DO IT our selves.

We totally relate, this stuff is heavy ✊Sitting with this information takes a huge emotional and psychological toll. And we need mobilize all efforts to cut emissions, protect ecosystems and prevent tipping events from happening.

@@ClimTip Have we asked ourselves too, to do what we can? I get what you mean, and it does indeed weight fucking heavy on us now. (especially with an idiot in the US that starts his presidency with "Drill baby, drill").. At some point, we have to just take charge ourselves and not care about whatever the people holding paper-thingies-with-numbers-on-them say.

@@arsenic1987 The political situation in the world is highly concerning, and it only makes the environmental struggle harder. In ClimTip we hope to understand complex processes in the Earth system, their mechanisms and impacts to produce reliable science and share the findings with the society to inform and inspire action whether its on the individual or collective levels or policy action. What do you think is missing from the discussion on climate tipping points?

@@ClimTip I wrote 4-5 paragraphs to reply, and just ONE missclick and it's all gone.... I've taken a memory-dump of chrome to try and get it back. but damn....... even when I try to speak, fucking computer fucks me over. ============ This is all I could find of what I wrote: (I'm refering to more concrete things that each and everyone can do. even though it's been said a million times). == The thing that's missing... is to say the CONCRETE "you can do THIS, and it will help when we all do"¨ One thing that the world CAN do (and yes, it IS possible..) Is to switch away ALL power-production from coal-gass-oil.. The first step would be to GET NUCLEAR PLANTS to produce power!!! that stupid idiotic fear of nuclear energy is primal.... It's WAY safer than the shit we burn now I think we don't need to say "Save the planet", cause the planet's gonna be around very much careless of if we're here or not. It's about "Save us humans".. And if we can't manage to save ourselves, then I think we basically deserve to be anhialated by crossing the tipping point. I'd also bring up more about our sister-planet Venus. A planet who has a very great potential considering how it's basically in the goldielocks zone as well. But hey, when CO2 get's out of control, it'll become a self-feeding circle that spirals out of control, and turned the planet into an oven. There is PLENTY of carbondioxide in the ground here on earth too, and if we "tipp over" to it getting too warm for the oxygen generating life-forms (algee in the ocean especially), well, then it's gonna happen quite fast. CO2 rizes enough to kill of a bit, then less CO2 absorbed, then we're cooked. litteraly.. Hope this makes a bit of sense... an hope we'll manage to get out of this shit. Sorry for being so very blunt and harsh.. but I think the time of "telling it calmly" has passed.

@@arsenic1987 Thank you for sharing your thoughts. A lot has to be done on all fronts, absolutely. At this point the agreement within ClimTip scientists is that the tipping of one or even multiple Earth system components is an uncertain but plausible scenario that could lead to additional warming. However, it is implausible that the climate system will reach a global tipping point that leads to uncontrollable runaway warming. This in no way reduces the urgency of our predicament.
