You made me realize I need a new Dr, for sure... She said I have fatty liver and it's nothing to worry about and that a lot of people have it... I mentioned the itchy skin below my rib cage and she had no clue what I was talking about and looked for a rash!! I'm like ma'am, it's deeper than that, it's not a rash... Smh

One of my liver enzymes was elevated, but not off the chart. I had an abdomen ultrasound and everything was fine. But, I completely quit alcohol and switched to a whole food diet, which enables me to avoid all the bad stuff. No highly glycemic and/or processed food, sugar or seed oils. Also, I get to avoid almost all preservatives. My blood work has been stellar for three years.

I'm so very thankful to have come across this video and your channel. I live in the US, and I use my doctors' / hospital patient portal to access all my test results including my CT scans of the abdomen and pelvis. Those scans kept showing something was going on with my liver. Additionally, my blood tests where my liver function test was done, my numbers came back wonky. Any and all attempts to address this concern with my PCP was met with, "Oh, that just means you have fatty liver. It's not a big deal." My blood pressure was elevated, and while I wasn't trying to forego blood pressure meds, I felt as though they were being thrown at me increasingly to reduce the swelling, despite the fact that one leg was significantly more swollen than the other. When I voiced that concern, she said well both your feet are swollen, it doesn't matter the difference between both legs, so I'm going to continue using the blood pressure to treat. Incidentally, my latest CT scan shows I have scarring now on my liver. I'm truly scared after watching your video and wished I'd switched my PCP sooner. I so appreciate the work you're doing here. It's so very necessary. So many times, I've found that doctors who actively listen to their patients and take seriously their concerns are fast becoming a rarity. I'm happy to subscribe to your channel, because I discern you are one of the good ones.

I had my gall bladder removed in 2023. I just had an ultrasound on my liver today. I’m praying it isn’t severe. I’ve been to more than 6 doctors through the last 5 years trying to figure out why I have these symptoms, but they always wanted to slap a bandaid on instead of finding the root cause. The itchy skin and all of the other things at first I thought were random are not random. If your doctor isn’t listening or are trying to dismiss you, don’t give up! Finally I found a doctor that knows what he’s doing. Finding the right doctor, for me, was much like dating. Aka hell.

I have Vasculitus, systemic inflammation effects all sizes of blood vessels. Years of this has caused organ damage. My liver is nearing the stage 4 I think. Everything is effected, Chronic pain, mobility issues, digestion issues absolutely everything doesn't work. Eating right, diets, medication, supplements and natural remedies do.not.work. it's been progressive. This last year I've developed diabetes 2 with insulin resistance. Sometimes you get sick and it eventually does you in. It's life long managed care. I was going to try infusion treatment but after trying get help with cost medication, I couldn't get the manufacturer discount of the 1200.00 a single shot every 6 weeks to a 5.00 copay, because I had a Medicare Advantage plan not a corporate insurance plan. So my body fails no matter what I have tried. So take it seriously and get treatment early. Try to stop the damage or at least slow it down.

I have NAFLD but I don't know what stage I am in. I lost almost 80 pounds over 2 years and my Dr. said that is probably why I now have NAFLD. My scalp has been extremely itchy for at least 2 years now, I've tried so many different shampoos and topical lotions to no avail. I bruise easily, even on my fingers when carrying bags of groceries, and I am tired most days. Sometimes I have pale stools and dark urine, I've increased my water consumption. My Dr. told me to stop taking my cholesterol meds for 4 weeks to see if my high liver enzymes reduce, will have to wait and see. Meanwhile I go for more bloodwork and an ultrasound to see about the fat around my liver, maybe I have scarring, don't know yet. She also told me to stop eating all processed foods, have only 1 cup black coffee daily, and eat more fruits/veggies.

Never had any issues before, years of consistent blood tests, usually on somewhat higher end of normal, then this "routine" test showed both abnormal by 15 pts? No real signs or sxs as you suggest, no pain on side, no nausea, etc. etc. just sort of odd. Starting Rosuvastatin a year ago (right after last blood test). I’ve had blood work that shows High liver enzymes in October. The doctor wanted me to redo my lab work so I did a three day liver flush, then redid it. It showed it went down a little bit. I also changed up my diet. Cut out all sugars and I am going AIP diet. I have lost 10 pounds and I’m eating more liver and liver healing foods but just yesterday I had the dark brown smelly poo you talked about. In October I had been complaining to the doc about an upper right pain under my rib and thought I had a hernia, but it came back negative. I now know it is part of the non-alcoholic fatty liver disease that I believe I have. So I’m not sure if I should worry about the malasis. my appointment for a specialist is in April. Hopefully, I can make some big changes before I see them. Thanks Dr for your information!

I now have a couple of lesions growing but they're benign and GP says we'll just check yearly now. My worst cholesterol results were when I was at my fittest and most active and dieting so.... 👍 and funnily, I had abdominal surgery a couple of years ago and my follow up apt the nurse said to me, "you look so good inside." Now that is the WEIRDEST COMPLIMENT but the best I've ever heard in my entire life. First eye account of my liferal insides is good. Also just genetics. Seems there's something in the family because my brother is having liver issues and they can't find the source.

Not just that, but even if you have test within the normal range (but borderline crosssing the low or high levels), they miss it because it isn't flagged. My ferritin levels have been in normal range but has been decreasing significantly, but my doctor missed it because it was still in the "normal" range, but on the lower end. It wasn't until i had to fight to get bloodwork done that it showed my ferritin levels absolutely tanked to 4 (normal is 50-300) did he decide to act. When fructose is absorbed by the small intestine it goes directly to the liver to be broken down. The enormous amount of high fructose corn syrup that is part the standard American diet is the cause of the explosion of NAFLD. Young kids are now being diagnosed with fatty liver. This is being caused due to the high, continuous consumption of processed foods, junk food, and soda that contains high fructose corn syrup. It’s really not a mystery.

Hi there. Was diagnosed 4 months ago with a fatty liver. My DR was of little help. So I’ve researched alternatives that could help me. Supplements I’m currently taking are Milkthistle and tumeric, one each pill in the morning. Stopped all sugars, refined carbs, no rice, bread, processed packaged foods, takeouts.. I’ve lost about 23kgs but I still know I have a fair way to go yet. I know it’s not going to be over night because getting to a fatty liver stage would’ve taken a while too. Walking is great, don’t stress too much on what exercises, as long as you’re moving, and mindful walking is so underrated. I was a massive gym goer but since having FL my energy levels have been so depleted, so now I just keep things simple. All the best.

I had your symptoms and was ignored for over 7 years - even my diabetes nurse brought it up but didn't nothing. Don't be scared, get a scan, also, go keto/low carb - yes, you may get a gallstone prob only if you have eaten low fat and high carb for years, but either way you'll live a better life!!!!

Christmas Eve, two years ago I started throwing up black stuff (coffee grounds) and things went from bad to worse. In September of this year, I had a liver transplant and am feeling way better. It's been a very rough and scary two years.

The house is quieter, the electric, gas, water, grocery bills is dramatically lower, I have the finished basement, bathroom , yard, back. Craving for a drink magically went away. Go figure. Less noise around the house, in my head allll day

@@raymondlin8728That’s one thing I believe needs more attention: emotional stress and how it affects the body. Even though people will say “you’re a saint for taking in your in-laws,” that doesn’t mean it’s not stressful af. I took care of my mom who has Alzheimer’s for a year in my home and worked at the same time. Mom and I were estranged for years so, tbh, I was resentful and super stressed. One of my liver function tests elevated but it’s normal now.

@NurseMcNamara I'm no Saint obviously. Yes. I was extreeeeemely stress. But i bit my tongue. Did everything with a smile. My wife's family needed 'help' so I said sure. Mother in law, husband passed away so she's lonely. Sister in law was separating and she needed a place to stay. Her son is autistic so she needed someone to watch, care for him , after school, and weekends, which I did, no problem. Ate with him, watch tv together, read book with him. We went on walks around the neighborhood, talked to him about his day, my day, the houses, landscaping, we passes Took pictures together so his mom can see how his day was going, as well as something to take with him, if he went home back to his real dad, which he did. I hope his father is a changed man now, taking care, appreciating his wife and son .

Thank you for these videos. I’m currently very frightened about my wife because she had an ultrasound and was told she has stage 4 cirrhosis. She hardly ever drinks alcohol 😢

What if your liver is enlarged and your gallbladder walls have thickened, but your bilirubin is 0.4 alkaline phosphate is 71, AST is 18 ALT is 23, and your GGT IS 22? Essentially perfect blood levels? In 2018 I experienced a fall and a coffee table broke my fall on my right side on the edge of the coffee table. Could this be affecting me now 7 years later? I haven’t had alcohol for 6 months because I noticed I didn’t really get a buzz from it but felt like garbage the following day. Could this mean anything. Idk I guess I’m just reaching to try and understand the inflammation and great blood levels.

In short i hope. Fatty liver was diagnosed by Ultrasound and slightly inlarge with some scarring.. I was told to re check in 6 month. I was tired at times. So sleep apnea was diagnosed by sleep study, and not by liver. All dietary note by GI Doctor. He the best. Wouldn't trade him. Thank for this video. A lot of people dont know about liver issues untill it's to late. I see this in the ER daily as a ERT Medic. So yes it's scary to here that i had a fatty liver. But i can do something about it. Thank God. Please anyone check your stool, get basic lab work done. See your PCP and GI Doctor. They work hand an hand. Stay in tune about your health. Please. Love yall God bless.
