10000% agree with thogden about croatia, that midfield is still insane and in the 2 nations league games against france and the one against denmark there defense has been so solid without gvardiol and sosa, Sutalo and Erlic (cb pairing) has been super good and stanisic(rb) was pocketing mbappe all game yesterday. The question mark is the forwards but with perisic still playing well and the likes of Majer, Musa, Simic, and sucic coming up they should be fine

@@mynameissiddharth well yeah we have never been out of group but isn't that enough mental cause for making it happen? 😁 And then it's mostly because of three facts, first Iran now has a much more experienced squad with three top attacking player won at least once, the league top goal scorer title and some more attacking player playing great at high level. Almost half of this squad has experienced the previous world cup. Second, it's Qatar! Most of players have been playing for a while there and some of them actually are playing now in Qatar league, as a very close country to Iran it might be the highest number of Iranian have ever bought tickets for world cup matches. And last but not least, the group itself and comparing it to the previous world cup group let us believe it is possible more than ever. Wish all the nation experiencing a very good world cup after all. Peace ✌️

Great vid. Personally as an American I can see us getting last, our manager is horrific. We typically do well when forced to play on the counter because that is when Pulisic and Reyna are at their best, but it is easy for us to lose to teams worse than us.

Croatia is not an ageing team. Quite the contrary. They have several young, promising players in the national team, with Modric, Brozovic and Perisic being the oldest if I am not mistaken, but those 3 play like beasts in their prime.

You obviously don't know Louis van Gaal. He's the same guy as in 2014, who got us into 3rd with a very average team. We have possibly the best defence in the world (only France is maybe better) and the class of Memphis and Frenkie de Jong means that we are not likely to choke.

@@cisco9281 Up front, you may be right, but Robben, Sneijder and Van Persie were ageing and considered to be too old to be successful. Obviously, they proved all the critics wrong. But in the midfield and especially at the back, many of our players were really average. De Guzman, Janmaat, Vlaar, Martins Indi all played for midtable teams or in the domestic league. The current team is lacking real quality in the attack (Memphis is treally the only really worldclass one), but at the back and in midfield, we are so much stronger than in 2014. Anyhow I'm looking forward to the tournament, whatever the national success or lack thereof.

Not really. It doesn't make alot of sense...First of all, Belgium isn't really that old. Only 3 players are over the age of 30, with Vertonghen being the oldest ( 34 ). Meanwhile, Croatia literally has Modric who is 36... Belgium also has some great young players such as Tielemans, Doku, De Ketelaere, Saelemaekers etc... And Belgium has also had far better results recently compared to Croatia.

@@deandoesstuff3371 Modrić at 36 is still better than KDB, or at least there's parity between them, other than that our players aren't old. We're better than you in all positions bar striker and GK but Lukaku currently isn't playing great either. Tielemans is a top class player but it's not like Croatia has no talent up to his age, with young players such as Gvardiol (elite CB prospect and already a great player), Sosa (serious Barcelona and PL interest, gonna move in the summer), Majer (plays with Doku in Rennes), Sučić (Liverpool and Milan interest), Šutalo (serious Lazio and some other teams interest for now). I hope the last one (Šutalo) gets called up for the WC because he's 22 and the best CB in the Croatian league, almost certainly gonna move abroad this summer. He's a top class CB prospect just like Gvardiol, elite with the ball as well. A more realistic prediction would have been Belgium second place, but he's going for an upset prediction there so it's sort of understandable. Whichever team he picks for an early exit, he can't really make a super convincing rational case for it, it's a sort of intuitive/feeling type thing. That said, if both our teams do what they have to in the first two games, the game between us will be pretty much a glorified friendly since we play eachother last.

@@horouathos8199 I wouldn't say you're better in midfield imo. I think we're pretty equal. KDB is definitely not worse than Modric and combined with either Tielemans or Witsel, that's a solid midfield. I also think we are better in attack. Sure, Hazard isn't performing currently, but there's still players such as Mertens, Carrasco, Trossard, Januzaj , Saelemaekers etc... Realistically, both Belgium and Croatia should finish top of the group.

@@deandoesstuff3371 I think it's fair to say that KDB and Tielemans are elite and on par with our midfield, though I think Brozo is miles clear of Witsel. To be frank, that's the primary reason for giving the midfield edge to Croatia. I do think both our teams are strongest in the midfield. Agree with you on where we should finish On paper, this shouldn't be a tough group for us. I actually always liked the Belgian team and I wish you guys luck.

Loved this, love both their enthusiasm and its great when Thogdad turns up, glad they had differences of opinion, to be honest I don't think either are far off but for me I think Group A will be Holland top, Senegal go through in 2nd (But FIFA will be desperate for Qatar to qualify, remember Korea in 2002!), Group B England & Wales, Group C Argentina top with Mexico & Poland fighting it out for 2nd. Group D, France and Denmark will fight it out for 1st and 2nd but I think Denmark could top the group, France could be the big team to go out after their poor nations league performances if they do Australia could make last 16, Group E Germany & Spain. Group F, Belgium & Croatia but I think Canada could be a surprise act. Group G Brazil top, the Swiss and Serbia will fight it out for 2nd and finally Group H, I think Uruguay will win the group, Portugal should get 2nd but something is telling me Ronaldo might go home early, watch for Korea and Son pipping them. Home nations?, well no Northern Ireland and no Scotland unfortunately but Wales made it and they have England in their group and I think both should get through. England will win the group and if they do they should play Senegal (or Qatar if FIFA get their way) so I think they get through that but the QF should be Argentina and I don't think they win that, even if Argentina falter it would be France or possibly Denmark. If its Denmark they have a chance but I think QF for England. Wales should play Holland in last 16 so I don't see them getting through that. Cant wait until it starts, not happy with a winter WC or how money and oil dictated where it would be held but it won't stop me tuning in. If I was to pick an outsider to really watch it would be Canada, I think France and Portugal could struggle, Denmark and Uruguay could shine but the trophy will go to South America, my heart says Argentina and Messi, my head says Brazil will get a 6th trophy...
