Although it truly seems as if Germany hit the generational switch button in 2014 properly while alot of other popular countries were hampering around against weirdly strong surprising sides. (Like Mexico VS Netherlands & Argentina VS Y'know in the group stage). Guess that after that one win they've started withering away a bit though. Sadly can't see how they're doing on Euros qualifiers since they're hosting it, but they still might have a chance.
