Your colorful bulletin boards with the popping borders, the assorted bins and other colorful touches are so inviting. Your cheerful happy space is a nice change. So many k-3 teachers are only using all black and white. Black bins, bookcases, black baskets with black and white labels, black bulletin boards, even black and white alphabet and teaching posters. In my opinion early elementary kids enjoy more colorful rooms. Sure, a few black and white labels, baskets or border is cute but these beginning teachers are really making depressing classrooms. Soooo thank you for NOT following the crowd and for doing a very inviting space. 😎😍

So, Shelly, I haven’t read all the comments, but after 32 years of teaching I finally realized that if I put bulletin board paper on vertically it’s easier. It helped me out so much this year! Yours look amazing, though!

I love that your classroom is different from everyone elses and pretty much always has been. It works, it looks modern, cute and most importantly functional for kids. I love watching class set up videos but it gets boring when everyone is doing the same theme every year. I love yours because it's a breath of fresh air to see a different theme to a classroom.

Maybe someone has mentioned/suggested this already but if you are not attached to the boxes your board games come in, you could (if they fit right) use those containers the school bought you that you showed in video #2? I know that Michelle from Pocketful of Primary did that and its very cleanline and easy to maintain for students, especially with labels! :) If the existing containers don't work, there are the ones that are meant to hold scrapbook paper.

For your bulletin board headers, how big do you make the letters? Is it one letter per page?
