I was right up front on their 2016 tour. Lucked out and my 23 yr old daughter & I had the chance to meet Alice & Joe, but the best part by far was meeting Johnny. For fifteen mins or so he stood there and talked to just the two of us. He signed everything my daughter had. He was as kind, thoughtful and cool as I expected him to be. It was one "celebrity" encounter that exceeded all my expectations. We talked about "The Brave" and he was surprised I brought it up. I CAN say, you could feel his sadness, as corny as that may sound. The last thing I said to him waa "Don't worry. You're going to find the right person some day." He actually said, "You really think so?", which surprised and made me pause for a couple seconds before saying, "Yes. Of course I do." He then said, "I hope so." Ugh. He's been literally tortured over this BS for years now. Im glad to see he's finally getting the massive support he deserves, but I wish he'd have gotten it 4-6 yrs ago. A man as private and yes, even introverted (weird way to describe an actor) as he is, forced to divulge his biggest fears and faults to prove that all he's done is tell the truth. He didn't ask for any of this. I got the hug, kiss and photo I'd waited 35 years for and I'll always remember it, but Ill also never forget the way he must have been feeling at the time.

Totally agree. Heros is one of my favorite Bowie tracks, second only to Ashes to Ashes. Btw, the Wallflowers do a great version (the band with Bob Dylan's son as lead vocalist. I think his name is Jacob by a bit busy to look it up. They are a fantastic band)
