I've had the absolute pleasure of seeing Bowie live 3 times, and the honor of having dinner with him once whilst touring in Australia with the Physodelic Furs while on tour in the early 80's. This version is nothing short of freaking EPIC. R.I.P. Lemmy you shall be forever so very sorely missed..! 😥. A dead set legend - there's not too many musos who can make such a claim to true fame. I have a friend in So Cal. Jeff, and he met Lemmy once. He told Lemmy that he was his hero, and Lemmy told him nah, be your own hero. Then he asked him what he did for a living, and Jeff told him he installed alarm systems. Lemmy then said" Jeff, when a family is saved from having their home robbed, who are they going to thank? Not me, be your own hero. Jeff was almost ready to quit that job, but Lemmy gave him the kick in the ass to climb the company ladder, until he became part owner of the company. Wise words from Lemmy, a all round great guy.

The original was amazing. This cover does something new and different with it, so its also amazing. I think David Bowie would have absolutely loved this version of his song. In fact, he would have asked to come onstage and sing along with Lemmy. And if that had happened, then it would have opened a hole in the space-time continuum and angels would have poured through, strumming on guitars and hammering out a beat on drums. What a precious gift those tow musicians were. The world is a poorer, quieter place without them in it.

I would have never thought the ringing sound of amp feedback along with random sounds of the bass can be filled with so much emotion that it could make a man cry.... but it did. R.I.P Lemmy, Wurzel, Phil Taylor, Fast Eddie, and Larry Wallis. R.I.P Motorhead

@@jackmann9031 I'll start by saying that this is a damn good cover. But Dave's version is simply definitive. Everything else is second best. If you like this version, let me recommend the Hollywood Vampires version and King Crimson's cover. Also, Blondie does one hell of a job.that being said, Mötorhead kills it here.

I always missed out on Motörhead, but then I actually went to one of their last concerts in Germany, just weeks before his death. Sure, he was already marked by his illness, but it still was fantastic to hear all of those songs performed by the band and I would never have forgiven myself, if I hadn't seen this legend on stage at least once.

This is the most wonderful video celebration of Lemmy ever. I love everything about it...especially the way it comes to an end. A hero's tribute. I really miss being able to look forward to a new Motorhead album. EVERYTHING Lemmy did had integrity. Yeah, some albums he and the boys did were better than others, but you can never say he phoned anything in. Everything he played was for the right reason. He and the boys could make anything sound cool...and I think Bowie himself would be smiling listening to this. Totally respectful and totally unlike any other cover of this song...and unmistakably Lemmy. RIP The Legend.

[Verse 3] I, I can remember (I remember) Standing, by the wall (by the wall) And the guns, were all ready to fire (ready to fire) And we kissed, as though we never can fall (never can fall) [Refrain] And the shame, was on another city Oh we can beat them, forever and ever Then we could be heroes, just for one day We can be heroes, we can be heroes We can be heroes, just for one day We can be heroes
