Gamma Ray was always for me one of the best power metal bands ever. Kai Hansen is a genius behind the genre, and this performance illustrates this in the most perfect way. There's nothing to adjust. The songwriting, performance, production, sound, arrangement, everything is close to perfection. The only thing missing is the audience, but luckily we are able to watch this online and contemplate one of most incredible songs ever written and recorded.

I love the original version of this song, with Ralf's vocals. But the re-recorded version on Blast from the Past is even better, in my opinion. This version is incredible because we can hear the original singer but we can also hear Kai's high notes on some parts, which are awesome. His voice is so iconic and adds some kind of magic to the song. To make it even better, there's also Frank doing harmonies. This is a great vocal work, and not so easy to do live as it seems. For anyone who appreciates good vocals, this performance is unmissable.

I love Helloween,always have and always will and they will always be my favourite band. Everyone says they are the masters of power metal but Kai just can’t do anything wrong no matter what he does. This man is the ‘Power’ in power metal. Kai Hanson is the same age as me, I first saw him live with Helloween when he was 23 yrs old, he was a monster guitarist even at that age and the very next weekend I saw Dimebag with Phil Anslemo in the same little club in Lawton Oklahoma in his first gig singing with Pantera. Dime was 18…also a Monster at a very young age. Helloween/Gamma/Unisonic are absolutely carrying the metal torch high. 🤘🏻🤘🏻

I like Your comment. I grew up with bands like Accept. Later on came the bands like Metallica and Helloween for sure. They were pretty different and I felled in love with the guitar tones of Helloween - Like Accept but a bit faster and more melodic style. The Power Metal was born, no doubt. We used to call it Speed Metal, Power Metal, whatever. And Mr. Kai Hansen was the one to show us the way! And he did that for sure. He was, and still is, the greatest European and all the same the most known and recognized Metalhead in the whole world, everybody loves him no matter from what genre they ever come. Later on I came familiar with Pantera and with the fabulous brothers - Dimebag and Vinnie Paul, fantastic musicians, RIP! I will allways love them as well as Phil Anselmo, the true Voice of Pantera.

If it was 1986 Phil did not join Pantera until December 1986. And kai was fronting helloween until around November 1986. If it was December 1986 helloween was recording keepers one. And I don't think made it to the US until around March or April 1987. So you probably saw helloween with micheal kiske fronting them. Where if you saw helloween with kai fronting them it was more aggressive and energetic vocally. Micheal kiske could never sing early favorites like heavy metal is the law. Reptile or guardians or even victim of fate or ride the sky as well as kai. Kiske tried singing judas too but it did not sound right. The only one vocally that could match kai was ralph.sheepers Who was helloween who wanted in the first place. But turned them down because he was still fronting tyran pace and that was his band only for them to fall apart and break up a year later. Due to bad management but they did release 3 albums and evolved from a judas priest like sound to more of an accept sound. Listen to the track from them eye to eye. Which bears an Erie resemblance to the judas priest track. You've got another thing coming.

Because one Frank's vocals do not compare to ralph or kai's vocals. People are used to kai fronting gamma ray which he took over in 1995 when ralph left. Two his vocals sound like dragon forces original vocalist zp theart. 3. With frank as vocalist gamma ray has not brought the turning back up. I understand kai's vocals have degraded considerably but I would prefer rallph if not kai Here is a suggestion listen to the heading for the east live album with ralph. Then listen to the 2002 live album skeletons in the closet then listen to the 2006 live album hell yea the awesome foursome. And listen to many of the same songs from this live performance and maybe you will understand more why people like me think frank beck is all wrong vocally for gamma ray vs ralph

But it sounds like you are bringing up the show where Fabio lione sang some songs and there was one where Tobias from edguy avantasia sang some songs. And do not forget 2008 when henne basse filled in for kai. All better than frank beck. But since micheal ehre drums for primal fear now also why not just bring ralph back full time as gamma rays vocalist and just let frank beck go. I even think ralph would sound great singing the later gamma ray stuff. And if we mention helloween I liked Ralph's vocals better than micheal kiske's and even andi and ralph is one of the only vocalists that can sing ride the sky as well as kai. Again I apologize that I could not translate what you are saying to English

@@gliedermartin yes kai smokes heavily I know and that has hurt his voice. Smoking is not good it has hurt my singing voice but it is hard to quit. I noticed kai's voice started to degrade around 2009. I think if kai had quit smoking in 1986. Instead of the micheal kiske situation with helloween I think it would have been much better. As back then he did not smoke as much. It gets harder to quit the older you get.
