Formed in 1968, the original Alice Cooper band forged a theatrical brand of hard rock that was destined to shock and had never been seen before. Within five years they would release no fewer than seven studio albums, amongst them their international breakthrough School's Out (including the Top 10 hit of the same name) and the US #1 Billion Dollar Babies (1973).
By 1974, the band had risen to the upper echelon of rock stardom... and then, it dissolved.
In October 2015, over 40 years later, record store owner and superfan Chris Penn convinced the original line-up to reunite for a very special performance at Good Records, his record store in Dallas, Texas, USA.
Alice Cooper (vocals), Michael Bruce (guitar), Dennis Dunaway (bass) and Neal Smith (drums) were joined on stage by Alice’s current guitarist Ryan Roxie (standing in for the late Glen Buxton). A packed audience was expecting to attend Dennis Dunaway’s Snakes! Guillotines! Electric Chairs!’ book signing… but they ended up witnessing a full-blown happening.
This legendary reunion show includes all-time classics such as “No More Mr. Nice Guy”, “I’m Eighteen” and “School’s Out”, and is now available for the very first time worldwide.
Luckily, the event was also filmed. The documentary movie “Live From The Astroturf, Alice Cooper” (edited and directed by Steven Gaddis) was very warmly welcomed at Film Festivals all over the world by music fans as well as rock journalists. The documentary won multiple awards for its coverage
of the historic event. This movie is included in the live album’s first print CD and Vinyl LP editions.

I saw most of the great bands in the 70's. The Alice Cooper "Killer" Tour I saw in Dallas in 1972, is in the Top 5 of ALL Rocks shows that I have ever seen!!!! And that's saying something!!!

Alice made some of the greatest rock and roll records with this band, and they haven't lost a step! Missing GB, but the band did him proud. Alice sounds great and the Alice Cooper Band always were, and continue to be a force to be reckoned with.

My copy of "Live from the Astroturf" arrived today...it is 50+ minutes of pure magic. At the end I felt I had just been to one of the best gigs of my life. Play it LOUD, and love it to death 😃 Classic Rock at its best!

Great put together video!!! You see lots of examples of old bands and artists that desperate hang on to their youth performance, most can't live up to it... time is mostly cruel. But Alice Cooper and band proofs to be bulletproof - they just sounds great as ever!!! I wish I could have been there...!

Received the new live CD recently. Its great!!!! Recorded at a record shop in Dallas in 2015. So good to see the original band (Glen there in spirit) performing together again live. The chemistry is still there. I read that they have recorded some new music together, about a dozen songs, and are talking about releasing it in the future. This band still rocks after all these years. Love it to Death!!!!

Man that took me back to the first time I heard this on ABX, right after its release. About a week later I was buying Killer at the Federal's at Gratiot and 12 Mile. My very first album, bought and paid for with money I earned. I still have the vinyl in my collection, although the calendar is long gone. I am pretty sure Mom made that disappear soon after I got it home
