I fell in love with the Alice Cooper band as a kid back in 72'. Seeing what happened to this Gem of a band was a disgrace and Shep Gordon is to blame for it. They worked and did their BEST work with Bob Ezrin but Shep knew all too well that the stage show was the big live draw and the money maker. The live show would have been nothing without the songs to back it up and the songs were written by Michel Bruce, Dennis Dunaway, Neil Smith and Glen Buxton with Alice playing harmonica and singing it wasn't JUST ALICE COOPER who they should have never allowed Vince to legally change his name to that of the band's. Shep knew that when the time was right after they tore them up by constant touring and making 2 albums a year the BAND couldn't take it anymore and Alice was getting all the attention. It's no wonder they all wanted to do solo stuff because they weren't getting their fair share of the recognition. So they get told they are taking a year off and Shep and Bob to a lesser degree because he HAD a job aside from Alice Cooper decided to talk a depleted Alcohol ridden Vince into going solo and leaving the personal friend's he owed his success to behind. If it were not for Dick Wagner he would have flopped right away and pretty soon after when the money started running dry because of Alice's drug issues and lesser musical popularity than the original Band even they deserted him. Not until he got clean and did Constrictor did they come flocking back to the cash machine. Alice ( Vince) had a bad drug and alcohol problem and while it was his fault he allowed it to get as bad as it did he wasn't all at fault. I'm glad that he came to his senses and give credit where credit is due by having the band inducted into the R&R hall and then working with them to include them on his new work. As far as Shep supposedly being this great guy well I blame him for the majority of why they broke up and don't buy that he's such a great guy, he's a money chaser at the expense of others IMO.

AC was never the same after he split from the original band. Whoever is filling in for Glen Buxton's lead guitar really got the old tone down well.

Agreed.I'm a diehard original ACG fan.Saw them in '69 before 'Love it to Death' came out then the 'Killer' tour.Sure he hired great players after their eventual breakup but that OG crew had the the special sauce.Also that's Joe Bonamassa in this Clip.What Depp was doing up there I'll never know.

If Depp´s actually playing guitar, I´ll eat my hat. I've seen a few vids with Depp ¨playing¨ with AC and I've yet to see his fretting hand even near where it should be when he´s playing songs that I know full well where it should be.
