@@eazythedon54st Naw, sometimes you fight even though you know you're not gonna win. Like when you fight a bully, just having the balls to defend yourself & fight back means something. The more you fight back, eventually they get tired and move onto someone that's less of a hassle. You may even force them to respect you for it. If you do nothing & give no resistance it's like saying it's okay to treat you whatever way.

What's great is how it's so realistic. Tracy is all fun and games until the first punch is thrown, and then he shows Earn what happens when you try to fight someone who has been to prison. A badly written show would have had Earn win, or at least get a few licks in, but realism prevailed. It wouldn't surprise me if a writer from Atlanta experienced something exactly like this - the angry confidence shattered almost immediately.

It ain't brave to fight a man that you know you can beat- its brave to fight when you know you can't win. Sometimes you simply have to fight and sometimes you simply have to lose, sometimes, thats the only way to gain an understanding between yourself and another dude.. i've known dude who would fight you everyday and you would have to beat them everyday, but everyday they would fight hard and thats the thing young man, you gotta fight hard. thats the only way for other men to respect you and thats the only way you will win.

IMO this isn’t about respect this is about Earn not taking responsibility for his mess ups. Remember they wouldn’t even be in this situation if he didn’t try to skip corners and save money. He made bad decisions all season and he saw Tracy coming for his spot. That’s why Tracy bothers him. If Earn made better decisions he wouldn’t have been insecure about his spot on the team and this wouldn’t have had to happen. Yes Tracy messes with him but Earn messed with him back. Just look at Tracy’s introduction scene Earn comes off as very condescending towards him. I wouldn’t consider Tracy bullying him Earn just needed to move better and that’s why Al finally had to tell him about himself.
