The fact that the boyfriend knew her financial situation and still insisted on doing extravagant outings is inconsiderate. Even activities aside when it comes to food thats something that my mom has always taught me to never be selfish about no matter someone’s financial situation. The fact that he heard her stomach growling & not once offered to pay for a meal is crazy. Like that’s your partner not some stranger. Even with friends if I know they cant afford it but they’re hungry if I have money to pay I’ll pay it’s not going to hurt my pockets seeing someone eat. He’s making 3x what she makes & he can’t offer to pay a meal he’s an asshole. Like at that point that’s not your boyfriend that’s literally a roommate/friend if you splitting everything 50/50 might as well be single. Not saying he should always pay for her but common once I a while is not going to make him broke.

Your partner isn’t your buddy. You have to take care of them, whatever that might mean for you two. Especially since he invited her and saw how hard she was working to pull her own weight. The only thing I can imagine with this rich vacation is that hes from a rich family and doesnt want her to like him for "his money". However, basic empathy should come into consideration here. Shes not just living off him and got a second job to pay for as much as she could. He should understand that its respectful to help for whatever is left. If her stomach is growling you need to open some communication with your gf wow.

Further basic human empathy says that if he sees that shes hungry he should be looking out for her. It's not normal for her to only eat 2 meals a day and he should be worried if she either a- suddenly develops an eating disorder or as-is going hungry. Open and honest communication is important in any relationship so he should have asked her what was going on

He should have shown empathy and covered any expenses that she didnt appear able to cover. More then that he should have opened a line of communication to ask why she skipped any meals. He knew she had to get another just just to help with the vacation the kind thing to do would have been to cover meals or activities just so she had more to spend on the trip to have fun.

The whole tiktok diagnosis bit, and the discussion around it, really hit home with me. I keep meaning to request that my doc test me for some things that tiktok brought to my attention, but I keep putting it off. Since finding mental health tiktok I've had my mind blown daily with realizations about myself and some past traumas that I'm still struggling to process. Over all I have found this helpful, but I do need to have some tests so I can figure out ways to heal myself moving forward. I have a lot of bad experiences in the medical setting and its hard to advocate for myself sometimes. I feel like they might give me a hard time about it, and that's enough to make me hesitate. I don't like having to fight/argue/debate with my doctor about my needs.
