In this short video, one of our experienced APM trainers talks you through Earned Value Management (EVM). This 10 minute clip is taken from our APM PMQ course, so gives to a great understanding of what our courses look like and how you will learn.
Earned Value Management is a way of tracking project progress in terms of cost and schedule. It lets you know if elements of the project are where you expected them to be at a given point in time. If you are ahead of schedule, how much time and money have you saved, or if you're behind schedule how much additional time and money will it take to get where you want to be.
We hope this film helps you understand EVM, feel free to leave your comments below.

Confuses me too. Would make sense if the days were 20 but it was calculated at half not quarter.

The graph example is misleading and wrong. Curve should remain at 0 until payment is made to contractor. Currently the graph showd that we paid the contractor $ every day.

How is the EV £250 calculated?
@7callisto

I think he said they only did 25% of the wall at that time. So the planned 1000 bricks at £250 plus labour £750 makes £1000. 25% complete of it is £250.
