Here's some tips to curb the noise pollution: 1. Sound barriers must be installed on highway/freeway/expressway 2. Mandatory conversion into office-type high-density buildings, and immediate relocation/resettlement to lesser polluted area for affected residents as a way of compensation For congestion prevention: 1. Local Public Transport Route Plan has to be executed properly 2. Train/MRT/Metro/Subway and Bus must be prioritised 3. Sidewalks, Bicycle lane is a must for local/near destinations, healthy lifestyle

Just 3 things you could consider changing: 1. Rubbish from the recycling centre is also picked up by the waste transfer facility, so removing them was just removing the extra trucks which could recycle the waste. 2. The fan zone park should be placed somewhere further away so people will be attracted to the concert from more distant locations. 3. An assymetrical 1+2 national road exists from network extensions, this will make that quick road even quicker the whole way and remove the pedestrian crossings on it.

I'm absolutely loving how City of Teapot is turning out. Meanwhile, for my city (Borealis), I seemed to have figured out the best approximate timings for 4-way timed traffic lights on general city streets: Minimum time of 3 seconds, maximum time of 20 seconds. I usually have my left turns get their own short phase (minimum 3 seconds, maximum 20 seconds too). Once I set the Advanced AI on TMPE 11.5 Labs and also set Normal Priority rules at signals, I was able to set up partially protected left turns with protected left phase that is followed or preceded by a "give way to opposing straight & right turn traffic" phase, just like a real life Canadian city street intersection. For dual or triple left turn lanes, or for urban roads that are faster than 70km/h (45 mph), I confine left turns to their own dedicated phase, the same as the real life Thunder Bay Expressway and Harbour Expressway in my home city of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, which is home to one of the biggest grain handling ports on Earth.

The RAM required for this game is significantly higher than recommended (esp with mods). Might be helpful for new players!

Ever since the glorious Industries DLC / Expansion which completely transforms the game for the better in so many ways I've wondered why we haven't seen a similar Commercial DLC / Expansion. It just seems so odd that it's been missed out. The first thing I feel needs addressing is the complete lack of multi-functional buildings. For example; Commercial-Residential buildings, low density retail buildings that have a small shop on the ground floor and one or two floors of apartments above them. Another would be Commercial-Office buildings. These types of buildings are so widespread all over the world it just baffles me how they're not in the game! They're so common and widespread, often lining any main road, that they should be unlocked extremely early on in the game as even those typical rural American towns with a population of 1,000 have them down Main Street! Then we have the major addition to the DLC / Expansion, the retail chain overhaul; Farms and industrial areas produce goods and deliver them to nearby storage yards / warehouses, Goods are collected and are taken to a sorting facility; collection by lorries reduces goods traffic, Sorted goods are then delivered to a distribution center via another lorry, [Trains can later replace the above lorries once unlocked to reduce road traffic] Sorted goods are then delivered to retail areas and superstores (explained below) via yet another lorry, Sorted goods are then either collected by customers from the store, or are packed in to delivery vans and are delivered to residential areas. Then we have the sometimes welcome and sometimes dreaded superstores, of which there are three levels; Level 1; A relatively small store specializing in only one type of goods that share a common space with other similarly sized stores; These would be modular buildings that wrap around a city-owned car park and share the parking facility; AKA a retail park. Typically these areas produce high levels of traffic and pollution. None of these stores offer home delivery. The city dictates the price of parking here and each store must pay a fee, meaning the city treasury itself gets an additional profit from them. Level 2; A medium-sized superstore specializing in multiple types of goods that owns the affixed car park, offering free short-term parking to the surrounding areas. These medium-sized stores have a dedicated delivery area around the rear so lorries can deliver sorted goods without causing traffic problems and loading bays for their home delivery vans. They boast reduced customer traffic due to their delivery service, which has a decent reach - In truth we already have these in game as an unlockable unique building, but they lack the delivery service and are pretty meh. Level 3; The Megastore. These are essentially superstores on steroids and are much larger and instead of only three delivery vans they have nine! Their home delivery area is much more widespread, usually tens of miles wide and just a couple of these stores could serve even the largest cities. They have multiple bays at the rear to accept more than one lorry at a time. Often conveniently place near a highway. And as an unlockable unique building we have The Strand; A collection of low density stores and stalls all crammed in to one small space which has an attached multistory car park, bus terminus, taxi rank, a tall office block and tall apartment block. It's most iconic feature being its massive underground loading bay facility, where lorries deliver goods to the stores completely uninterrupted by traffic and where a few delivery vans depart from. Boasting reduced noise pollution but suffering a high crime rate. Perfect for that high density residential area you have! Honestly I think a commercial overhaul is long overdue and should definitely be the next expansion. I'd happily hand over my money for the above, which is just how retail *should* work in the game! No more cities with mile wide squares of small shops and horrendous traffic problems!

Biffa Plays Indie Games I love your vids- I started watching a couple of years ago and have followed along through many, many city fixes, all of Teaville and now Teaport. Here are some ideas I’d like to see: 1. Name a mountain road or a raised highway “The Chai Road” harhar 2. Build a grand boulevard similar to Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn. It’s a four lane road flanked on either side by narrow, tree-lined parks featuring walking paths, bike lanes and metro entrances, and flanking the outside of that, on either side, are two one-way roads with parking on either side before you get to the sidewalks next to the buildings. The length of the boulevard could be zoned as a park! Apparently Eastern Blvd was the world’s first Parkway, and was designed by engineer FL Olmstead, who also designed Central Park in NYC and Prospect Park in Brooklyn. You can look it the layout in the google maps street view: Eastern Pkwy at Classon Ave is a good example. Eastern Blvd might be a fiasco to build in-game, but the process ought to be fun to watch (like that time you built the Swindon traffic circle 🤣). Maybe you could even call it The Chai Road! Thanks for doing these vids! They’re so fun and relaxing to watch. One small bit of constructive crit- I personally would rather have a longer video and not have the sped up portions with the chipmunk voice. There is something so relaxing and almost hypnotic watching you puzzle out issues and explain your moves that the rare sped-up moment can really be (relatively) stressful to watch. Keep up the good work! Quick sippa tea ☕️

Just a heads-up, passing information along that I learned from the amazing folks on your Discord (I believe it was Archangel). When you use warehouses or storage buildings for the express purpose of supplying your factories or refineries, you want to set them to full. Setting to empty means they'll prioritize selling the raw materials, and setting to balanced means they'll sell before they'll fulfill needs when it hits more than 50%, whereas fill means they'll draw goods from the storage as they're needed by items rather than importing. I was having issues where I couldn't get materials to a factory and I asked on your Discord and that's what I was told, and when I made the switch it fixed my issue (I previously had everything set to empty or balanced).
