So, I’ve been thinking about land and what people will go for in the future. So far I think it would be fair to say landmarks in Earth 1 have been the most desired locations in Earth 2. Then capital cities, tourist spots, malls and so on. We have also seen player-made areas such as Megacities thrive inside of E2, some of them built over super busy E1 locations but others doing well in the middle of nowhere even without that geolocational link that many of us flocked to E2 for.

Ik think prime locations wil do well, but I also bought a lot of scenery and remote places. Just because I personaly love that. I've bought waterfalls, mountain tops, places with spectaculair views, very isolated places and I am very pleased with that.

Bit of everything for me... have a small island to escape to... have a large plot in Amsterdam for a project. A few shopping centres and I've been collecting waterfalls and natural beauty spots but sill many more to discover.

I've mostly steered clear of megacities, as I think the benefits of E1 footfall will be significant. I do think that the choice of Minsk to go with Shoon City was inspired and reckon yours will be one of the most popular. Go Pacey, and congratulations on your status as Yellow Energy demigod!

The tech is pretty cool but honestly I think we're a fair while off mass adoption for that sort of stuff and without mass adoption it's hard to justify the time required to support it. IMO AR would come via phones a lot sooner than something like Apple Vision.

Im sure theres gonna be lots of location/view picking when we able to explore E2V1. Some remote locations might look absolutely stunning and what's better place to build a nice city than that?

Pacey, I absolutely agree with you, I believe player created cities will likely be "THE FIRST" factor. Even if it's "just" the ECOSIM, I think people are likely to build and interact in areas that have long term potential and/or close friends! However the "SECOND" factor I have believed for quite awhile will still be player created but it will be EXPERIENCES. And organized cities should keep a look out. Because whoever/where ever the first fun experience is built .... will likely start a new shift in activity. After all, ROBLOX may have 350 million monthly active users. But last I read... 85% of the traffic was driven by less than 10 games! Real Life locations may take the power long term but we're missing info!

Very well put mate. Although I do imagine player made experiences outside of building ecosim buildings, bases and such could be a long way off. We've not seen any of that sort of tech show by E2 at all. But you're 100% right, It's something we need to keep in mind for long term goals.

E2V1 Alpha will be launching some time in 2024, that's all we know for now though. No new updates about Drone though unfortunately.

Since E2 has been wiped clean of any human constructs such as cities, the best locations will be natural landforms and with epic vistas

It is true they've been wiped for the 3D world. But that doesn't get rid of the geolocational link. The people, buildings and such will still be there for that.

That’s what puzzles me. Why would I for example physically travel to New York City for example. Incurring costs, travel time and visa fees etc, to then look at an AR landscape? Particularly if it’s filled with advertising and no activities.

@brettjones9590 no one is suggesting anyone would do that. But there will be people organically visiting E1 locations daily. If E2 takes off we will have people already in those locations and interacting. There's also never been any mention of fludding with ads. So far what we've seen of E2 ads they're put into the project pretty seamlessly. But in terms of AR revenues it could be things like someone in E1 discovered a resource in a plot you own in E2 so you get a share or an E1 location wants extra visitors so they pay E2 to have a big E-ther spawn or rare resource appear for a limited time that can only be collected in person. The limitations are endless and certainly don't require anyone to travel to visit their own plot.

I see what you are driving at. But if I’m at a location, it’s with purpose or intent to do or see something at that location. The Eiffel Tower for example. I’m not going to ignore the stunning architecture and world famous landmark to whip out my phone and AR some crude buildings. How would I, as a passing person even know of an AR location? The French government government aren’t going to put a sign up or allow any sort of advertising on their national monument. Will i arrive at an untouched wilderness vista, with beautiful views and find an AR code taking me to an amusingly named place with a box? Saying that, if I was in my local Aldi, why would I AR the shop instead of buying my milk?
