I have thick Philippine /Asian like hair that naturally likes to stick out on the sides. I tried this product. Unfortunately it makes my hair look amazing but the hold is non-existent. Need to use a strong hairspray along with this product.

You might do well with the Gerson & Co. tropics matte clay! Similar to this one in terms of texture and finish, but has a thicker waxier feel and is designed for thick hair and humid conditions.

Damnit, I do not need to buy another hair product! I just got the Rio texture cream last Thursday 😅 This stuff sounds too good to be true! And, lone product no more, this company has a bunch of equally amazing sounding hair and skin goodies on their site now.

Thank you for another great review. My two favorites thus far have been Hustle and fuertes clay and this seems like it may be in the same category. Would you suggest this product if I loved both of those ?

Definitely! For sure in the same calibre as those.

Would you prefer NO GUNK matte lava clay or this Earth Made Co Ultra Matte Clay Pomade? Thanks!

Hmm, both are nice. I think for me Earth Made has a stronger hold and a lighter, more matte feel/finish.

Aye this looks awesome! Using shear as a prestyler and just got 25 spray and am liking the results this far. I’ve been using Templeton oasis clay, would you say the hold of this is stronger? Would like a product that’s similar but with a bit more hold for my thick hair. Great vid!
@TDMStyle4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Hard to say if this has more hold - both this and Oasis are quite strong for me. This one for sure is less sticky at application though and feels lighter in the hair.

Is the original clutch still the best clay on the market? Or if not what is?
@TDMStyle4 жыл бұрын
I can’t really say what’s the “best on the market” because there are so many that work differently for different people/hair types/etc. For me though Clutch has always been consistent in its performance, so I use it on days that I need to know exactly how my hair will turn out.

Hey Matt do you have a top 3 clay must haves or must try?
@TDMStyle4 жыл бұрын
Hard to narrow it down to 3 - I have so many clays that I enjoy for different styles/scenarios. But I think at this point, 3 that I would definitely recommend everyone try are probably: Earth Made clay pomade, TheSalonGuy HUSTLE, and Fuertes clay. There are so many great others too though, like Oasis, Stickmore, and many others!
@Stylezsnyc4 жыл бұрын
TDM Style Definitely agree on Oasis 👍🏼. Just ordered the Earth Made clay. Now which clay(s) out there in your experience have the most effortless application no tug or pull with medium/firm hold?
@TDMStyle4 жыл бұрын
The first 3 I mentioned are all that - Hustle and Fuertes are more medium holds, while Earth Made is more of a strong/firm. But all 3 have suuuper smooth application with no tug.

Nice review bud your reviews are funny as fuck😂 Hey speaking of shelf life..I’d like to ask about Baxter’s Clay. I have a quarter-way used older jar from several years back, that seems to be discolored on the surface.. Would it still be ok to use?? Btw, have you heard of or tried a clay by Rosewood? Would be nice to see that one if you could!! Thanks👌👍
@TDMStyle4 жыл бұрын
You could still use the Baxter, but most cosmetics have a "shelf life" of 12 months after opening. After that, they can still be used, but they probably won't be as effective or might not work as they should since the ingredients are breaking down. I haven't heard of Rosewood - I'll have to look into it!
@reekofilmz47284 жыл бұрын
@@TDMStyle Right on Matt..yeah I forgot to add that I had 2 jars of that Baxter’s Clay both from that same time frame; the other jar NOT discolored. Performed like a champ! So guess I’ll test it out. On the Rosewood..found it on Amazon; 3.54oz @ around $20. Similar to Blind Barber and others in that it’s also outfitted by a barbershop..Rosewood Barbershop out of SoCal. BTW another good one is GBS Control Wax. It’s pretty damn good too. Odd there’s not even one review on youtube for it or the Rosewood..think I’ve seen some for their shave products though.
