The voice of the alien is Paul Frees. Beside Mel Blanc, he was the Man of a Thousand Voices. He performed in numerous radio dramas throughout the 40's and 50's. He's best remembered as the voice of Boris Badenoff on Rocky and Bullwinkle. He was also in the original War of the World's as the radio reporter. A great actor not many people still remember.

@tr7938 that’s not necessarily a hateful comment. It’s only your opinion and how do you know they’re not one to comment? they may actually not be overweight. They might not be infantile They might not be a millennial therefore the comment could be factual- in my opinion the very fact of the replies that he’s got shows that actually he’s quite correct. If he made those comments back in the 50s when the film come out it wouldn’t have raised an eyebrow.😂

Thanks for the colorized version - it may not make me a purist, but I tend to prefer the color versions over the BW ones in most cases (save for where it is artistically superior) - I've always liked this film - It tells a familiar story well and the enemies are not just mindless icons of evil, simply believers in 'Realpolitik' - The scene when they attack the research lab and (what happens next - no spoilers) and the UFO just hangs over the burning forest in the aftermath always strikes this writer as very powerful. Dispiriting to see some of the comments below, but we bring what we bring to the party and take from it what we take. Hope they find what they admire as equally entertaining.

It's terribly idiotic. It even worse than East German movie "The Silent Star" or maybe known as "Spaceship Venus Does Not Reply" or "Planet of the Dead". These are different titles for the same thing. That German movie was based on Stanislaw Lem book and it was so bad that the author ordered to remove his name from it. "The Silent Star" was anyway much better than this one. Recall the apes from the 2001 movie. Could the fight our planes and other weapons? Of course not. For the same reason guns could not shot down such saucer. If they managed to fly to our solar system, the difference between them and us is much bigger than between humans and 2001 apes. That's why the movie is terribly idiotic.
