Ever thought about adding "Expanded Cooking" To the playthrough? Adds alot of new meals, raw foods, and methods to get health! (A nice green potion thats quite complex to build but can heal quite a bit). If you do i genuinely suggest making bone broth and taking a jug of it with you! Handy for topping up the protein stats and enjoying a nice cup of broth in that cold? Ten ten!

Ooooo, I do enjoy a good bone broth... I'll keep it in mind, though I'll likely wait until the 1.20 update is out to fully decide. Mods that make large changes with a bunch of custom items tend to have some hiccups when it comes to updates, and the last thing I'd want is for all the custom food to vanish after a major update!

Yes Sauerkraut is good and on any type of Hotdog, bratwurst, even some sandwiches. I was wondering about your internal windmills was wondering if they needed a gap to outside. It might be nice to put some screened off hidden air passages. thank you as always you lighten my soul.

There's got to be a maximum number of blocks that can surround a cave before it's no longer considered fully "outside", but as long as a single hole does it, I can always hide it away or even see if a single voxal layer block of chiseled stone could visually obscure the hole while keeping the airflow! I'm not worried about the visuals up there, though, since once the axel line down is put in place, I shouldn't have to go up there apart from adding more windmill sails or if I ever need to change mechanical paths! Glad you enjoyed the episode! :D

When i heard about the fireclay change i was quite upset. Then i sat and thought about it a bit more and i realized its a pretty good idea, from a dev standpoint, because as it stands now Flint is totally useless past the early early game. Once you get into the copper age then flint becomes totally pointless, after a little while you just stop collecting flint and this actually gives a use to flint later in the mid-late game.

Yeah, if flint can be cooked in a campfire to mix with blue or red clay to get fire clay, then it just makes all of those flint ore deposits actually meaningful lol

The raspy rapscallion returns! From what I understand, creating a new world is pretty much definite for 1.20 (but please don't quote me on this). If this is true, you could still use the same seed and settings on a new world, as well as exporting your builds from 1.19 into 1.20, ultimately not losing anything. We'll find out once the stable release is out

I'm hoping it doesn't come to that, just due to how much extra work it'd be to copy over the builds. If it's anything like the update from 1.17 to 1.18, hopefully with a couple console commands we can be up and running with minimal disjointedness! Only time will tell. No matter the case, I'll be in no hurry after the stable release of 1.20. There's plenty to be done before any of the new features would come into play! :)

Yeah, another Solstin video! Castle is looking good! Can't wait to see the towers all decorated. Cabbage? Yes. Most varieties, but usually cooked. My favorite cabbage dish is Rotkohl. Basic recipe Coleslaw is my least favorite "side dish". If it has anything else in it, it's suspect, and I won't touch it with a 10' fork. Sauerkraut? Yes, but I like it plain and warm. It's one of the few "sour" foods I like. I don't even like sour candy. Bears. Sigh. Just think of the wolves as Huskies singing you the song of their people.

Thanks! I'm hoping to get at least the Eastern gatehouse decorated before spring is fully here along with roughing in the outer curtain wall. The constant howl of wolves under the castle will actually be pretty fitting with the wolf-themed banner I've got planned for the castle! :P

@@Solstin I've been thinking, if it takes you a bit of time to complete the castle before 1.20 hits Stable Release and the mods you have get updated, have you thought about copy/paste using World Edit to put your buildings in the new world and just continue on. I don't know if you could use the same world seed or not, but this would save you from having to worry about any odd changes to the world. Especially if the IDs of items in the database (including mods) get changed, and you end up with a lot of white boxes with red question marks out in the world or in ruins in the areas you've already traveled. Those items in your inventory could easily be Creatively replaced, but changes to the existing environment would be harder to fix. On a different note, is it possible to use the stone quarry mod on Halite and Sylvite? They're ... stone, but not stone and ore, but not ore. It's a question I've been thinking about, and you have easy access to Halite.

I've got the plan of using worldedit as a sort of last resort if everything goes wrong with compatibility lol Definitely going to be keeping tabs on the mods I've got installed to make sure they've all been updated before taking the 1.20 plunge. As for worrying about white question mark boxes, the ruins out there are all vanilla so I'm not expecting any issues like that, but extensive testing and precautions will definitely be taken to make the transition to 1.20 as smooth as possible! For quarrying halite, it should work the same as any other rock but the sylvite would be left floating the same as any other ore block with the quarry mod! Maybe I should stock up before the update just to prepare for a worst-case scenario 🤔

@@Solstin I don't think you'll find such an easy source of Halite. Personally, I'd definitely think about taking out the Halite pillar(s) before updating, just to be safe. Whether by pickaxe or using the Stone Quarry mod, I'm not sure. Would probably depend upon the pillar. Last I saw, it looked a bit disjointed. Not sure if that was because of terrain or from you taking some of it already.
