I know After The Love Is Gone and Boogie Wonderland got most of the attention off "I Am" but for my money this was the best song on that album. Best live version of this song I've heard.

He left the group to raise his son.

He left the group a little later in 1980. He didn't quit after this show.

​@@cehayes74I heard that it was because he failed to show up for one of the shows in Brazil... but then his version of the story is that it was his decision to leave...

@@lamontwallace4323 He was let go once in the early days, because he was still working with Stax as a music contractor and EWF at the same time. He missed a show. They had a bad performance on a show with Parliament, then Maurice called him back to join EWF again. You're right though. According to Maurice White's book "I sent Al a letter of termination"
