Totally agree…. Music is healing. By the Grace of God and Praying music has kept me through many dark times after my son passed and then his father passed. My husband and I danced to this song all the time. I forgot. It just popped in my head today as I was trying not to think/dwell on both of them. My husband LOVED “EWF” He insisted that I carry on and start living because I was…. Still is… just existing after our son passed. I’m honoring his request but it takes intentionally trying every day. I saw Earth Wind and Fire in Chicago in 1974 (or 73). I was my first concert and quite frankly, it is still one of my most memorable concerts. We were teenagers at the time and our tickets were free. Our tickets were paid for by the summer youth work program that we were a part of. Great memories!

I saw them live as a teenager. I was so close to the stage at the Louisiana Superdome back in the 70's .. Phillp Bailey was singing 'REASONS' to me.. My protective brother was blown away! I am 63yrs old soon I will turn 64 years in later September.. I still remember this phenomenal concert and am forever grateful and thank Almighty God he gave me the privilege to be there to witness one of the greatest bands on the planet. This song is special to me. This EWF recording was released on an album from 1972 was titled "Last Days and Times". Jessica Cleaves sang on this LP. She was once a member of the group Friends of Distinction. The song was written by Pete Seeger of "Peter, Paul and Mary" and it was written in protest against the Vietnam War in the late 1960's. I was in high school at the time and was worried that I would be drafted and shipped off to war. I was very fortunate not to have lived that experience. I did loose some friends from high school and my hometown to the Vietnam War. Every time I hear this song I think of those whom I knew and died in Vietnam. Thousands of soldiers and who came back home were wounded and psychologically damaged. The lives of the soldiers and their families were forever changed by the experience of war. I know, because my father was one of those soldiers.
