You Potters are probably going to get a few episodes of this texture on a finished body

I saw this on a few mugs a few months ago and tried it!! It is sooo much fun and the finished pieces are great!! I am a hand builder so I rolled out a slab and allowed it to dry a bit for doing tests on with different tools. That really helped since I had never done anything like this before. I did accidentally dig too deep on one mug and ended up making it into a candle holder! Lol. I found that if you swipe while leaving your thumb on the pot it gives you much more control!!

actually, just make a slab and practice on that to get the feel of your tool and the tension, direction, pressure, and shapes that you like...then make your mug and use it. As a beginner, I found that out quite quickly cuz making that mug is WAY longer and harder than messing it up with oops texture.

Don't be sorry, everyone's entitled to their opinions. Even the minority who don't like it 🤷♂️

@@EarthNationCeramics My God you’re kind. I just struggle to get pieces as nice as yours..(before you carve them) ..so I just gasp when I see that! 🙏❤️

Remember, the glaze will be transformed by the texture.
