I’m in Santa Monica California but have lived in San Francisco, Sacramento, and Spokane Washington. I have friends in Seattle, Tacoma, Bainbridge Island and Port Angeles Washington! I pray they will not experience a M9.0 or above. I’ve been through 6.9 in San Francisco during the A’s-Giants World Series baseball ⚾️ game in 89 and felt Northridge in 94 as the Santa Monica Freeway was down for months!!! I have family in Anchorage Alaska and my dad was stationed in the Air Force there in 1964 M9.2 temblor. My heart ❤️ goes out to all of us on the West Coast!

Very happy to have found this video. It’s 18 years later, so I am going to find where the research has gone now.

I love the topic but can't read the slides on my phone. These older presentations were made to be viewed on desktops & laptops. I'll wait to watch when I'm at my desk

What an excellent talk! I was just thinking that someone should make a model using the stresses exerted on the different faults and I'm glad to see that someone is doing this since I only had the idea that it should be done without the necessary abilities to do it or even the necessary data. I suspect that we will be able to figure out when earthquakes will happen with this kind of modeling eventually. Very cool!

In portrait, with her hair up like that, and in black and white, she looks like she's in 1906. Such a great color and the way it falls. Personally, I like brainy chicks. They have something to talk about, you know, instead of the mindless prattle you get with a BW. When they talk in the car you really do listen.

Go to say 5:45 Have you ever seen so many bald guys randomly placed in such concentration? Took me off topic for a second.

They are sitting in the most probable place for maximizing high grades too! Probable due to habit, because their brains were forced to begin compensating for the enivitable entropy that will ultimately result in baldness and death for all the earth monkeys, that and the concern for ignorance of "faults" not of their own stupidity, such as making shallow, fairly obvious observations at a scholarly gathering.
