Ryan, I’ve been watching garden restorations for a few years now, including a lot of videos from fellow Aussie KZbinrs, and I can safely say that this driveway wins the title of THE WORST DRIVEWAY EVER. You are doing an amazing job! 👏 So glad I found your channel. ☺️ I hope you have a wonderful week! Take care! 🍀💜🌞

What an incredible job. Sometimes I think removal of the stuff you cut off and dig out takes more time than actual gardening. Then an assistant would be nice to tidy help tidy up.

I am happy for you that they were able to move the car. I have seen other lawn keepers video and the car never gets moved. It does give you more room to move around more easily and it doesn't leave a spot that isn't complete.

What a task it was to work in a smaller sized flowerbed! Amazing how something like the fern, canlook nice when it’s first planted but how smothering it can become. The rock edging is very dramatic effect but if someone isn’t able to stay on top of it how quickly it could become overwhelmed by grass & weeds! Not having the car there before you started had to be helpful! With work you did it really opened up the space!! And from that you were going to more jobs! WOW! Bet you sleep good at night. Thanks for showing us your hard work!!

Ryan what makes this series so interesting and entertaining is that each visit results in a dramatic difference. It also shows how much hard work is required to bring a property back. The carpet made me laugh, my Mother put ‘pathways’ of old woollen carpet in her veggie garden so she could nip into the garden to get beans or other vegetables and could do so in her slippers ❤

In my younger years I can remember people using strips of carpet between rows in the veggie beds. Dumb idea IMHO. Good old grass clippings have always been the best to me. Plentiful, free and adds to the soil over time. Thanks for the video!

Ryan, my pulmonologist told me that if I was going to do gardening or cut the grass, I had to wear a mask. It may not cause problems now, but later on in life, all the acid rain, chemicals in the air and everything in the grass will affect your lungs. You are a smart young man with a bright future. Don't let lung problems affect you later in life. I love the work you do and really enjoy your channel. I hope you get a good quality mask - like Tim the Lawnmower Man - and wear it! Hi Ryan, that's an enormous amount of hard work for just one person, especially when its gratis. Those fishbone ferns are are diabolical, I managed to finally evict all mine and suffered many stabs from their hypodermic-like dead stems so I feel your pain, as for gasping for air, you are working really hard but also breathing in heaps of dirt dust, please use that edger to cut things into small more manageable pieces, you could have even cut that carpet with it as long as you held it in one spot till it cut through before moving to the next section thereby avoiding entanglement with the threads, I don't really know if that's possible but I'd give it a go, cheers champ !!!

You sure worked hard. I absolutely loathe and detest ladder fern. Once it gets established it's so hard to get rid of. I helped a lady get rid of some in her garden and it was killer work. It has lots of tubers and runners and resprouts easily. Ugh!! Did the owner want you to leave the ferns that were beside her little deck? It was very satisfying seeing the dwarf date palm appear and also the rocks edging the beds. They remind me of a lot of older gardens in Auckland. Great work Ryan. Can't wait to see the next part!
@hantayowinАй бұрын
@@genwhite1175 That’s SO funny for someone from Texas yo read. My part of it anyway. I love ferns and try to grow them in my shade garden. I’m not very successful. I’d like to know what variety those are. I might try them in a container.
@genwhite1175Ай бұрын
@@hantayowin We know it as ladder fern, but it's also called fishbone fern. Like all ferns, it likes fairly moist shady conditions but this pest seems to grow in full sun. It's tough as old boots.

As always I am in catch up mode. I started with Part 1 and could not find 4? But picked up with 5 and here I am at Part 6 😁 And looking forward to Part 7. Happy Belated Birthday! I would have guessed early 30's lol But I am lousy at this since I am 70 and you all look like kids to me 🤣😂🤣 Wonderful job on this place, it was a mess!!! So is it harder or doubling your work to cut the grass first then use the edger to cut it up so you can pull it up? Poor palm tree it was like, dying and now it is like you are making it able to breath again. You are a good man Ryan to help this mom get her yard back to starting phase, hope she can keep it up after you have done all this work. Remember to hydrate and replace your glucose levels. I am going to go check out the series before this (yes I am very much behind ). See you next week!

Did you manage to find part 4? I'll add all videos of this one into a playlist shortly.
@cathleeny8670Ай бұрын
I can attest that carpet or anything like this that is used to keep out weeds does not work. This is because seeds and dirt, grass from mowing get blown onto the carpet and whatever covers it (in my case, rocks), end up being a multilayer bed of dirt and weeds that is extremely tough to remove. Sure it looks good for a season, but after a year it can be difficult to know what look you were originally going for.
