Earth Trim Gardens

Күн бұрын

Hello everyone,
Well this was TOUGH work. Sometimes gardening isn't always about pushing a lawn mower or using a whipper snipper...sometimes you just have to dig deep (pun intended) and work hard! That was definitely the case with this visit. I didn't like how the garden beds were looking just by pulling the weeds by hand so I made an executive decision to dig out as much as I could so the owners could use the raised beds as veggie patches.
Apologies for not getting subtitles up on my intro yet, I am still figuring out the best way to do this and it is also fairly time consuming and extra spare time is hard to come by at the moment.
If this is the first time you are watching this series, welcome! I did originally being this work and was charging the clients but over time their disability support funds dried up so they were no longer able to continue paying me. I advised them that as long as they were happy for me to continue recording my work and I come in 2-3 hour blocks around my schedule, I would keep working free of charge.
This is possible thanks to the revenue I am earning through KZbin advertising as well as the Buy Me A Coffee website I have created, the link to this page is below:
buymeacoffee.c...
Thank you all for supporting my channel. The best way you can continue to support me is to hit the subscribe button, click that like button and leave me a comment. I love reading all you have to say and do my best to get back to as many comments as I can.
I hope you enjoy this video.

It seems unlikely that the homeowners will be growing vegetables in those beds if they have physical limitations. Could you just remove the wooden edges and spread out the soil so it could be seeded with grass seed? Will this yard be getting regular maintenance after you finish the initial cleanup?

I thought the same thing. I realize it might be beyond his scope of work but removing the garden beds and even the stakes around them would make the area much nicer looking and easier to maintain.

I haven’t finished watching yet but you need a kneeling pad and gloves. Leaning like you were doing is a great way to injure your back. A garbage can lying on its side would also minimize the bending and standing. Work gently for your back. People with bad backs worry about things like that.

You know what just struck me, Ryan? Since you cleared these garden beds the first time, up until this latest clean-up, I haven't seen any indication that the owners have made any attempt to use them. That got me wondering if ground level gardening is just too hard on the old back to do much of anymore? I wonder if they'd be able to garden in comfort if they had 3' tall planter beds (I've heard them referred to as Gentleman Planters)? Say three beds, 3-4' wide by 8' long with minimum 2' aisles between them so they could be accessed from all sides. It'd keep the dog out of them, too! My own beds are 2' tall, and I swear by them ... only a little bending with absolutely no getting on my knees. My two cents!
