How harrowing to hear of Tornado Emergency in your city.. My parents live in Newnan and in our 12yrs in Georgia, this has never happened. They sheltered and heard the trademark train sound, then silence, then pouring rain after that. The tornado went by their home on its way to downtown Newnan (which is only minutes away from their home). Thankfully things turned out ok for them. Just a lot of trees snapped and littering the streets and some homes had some siding and roof damage, but did not seem (from their POV as I haven’t visited yet) as significant as further down on the other side of Newnan..

I live north of Atlanta, and we had a higher risk for tornadoes than Newnan. In January, we even had the tornado sirens go off in my area, so I was super scared to hear live that a tornado emergency was issued.

Same with my family! They live in Newnan and only minutes away from downtown Newnan. They heard the loud train sound as it passed by and thankfully spared their neighborhood.. but I feel so sorry for those further down on the other side of Newnan who were not so lucky. :(
