This video doesn't mention my home country, Japan, but at that time Japan was at the end of the Showa era, and the economy was booming with the bubble economy. Japan has strengthened its economic advance into Southeast Asia, and was criticized by Japanese leftists as a "second invasion." It was also the time when trade friction with the United States reached its peak, and the Japanese were ridiculed as "economic animals" by the West. Crop failure, contaminated water destroying fishing, not to mention there would be almost nobody left it could trade with. And I doubt they had more than say a week of food in reserve. Even IF somehow the farmers knew to switch to crops like beets that were better suited to growing in this hellish new world. The citizens of the cities would starve and would flow out to the countryside in desperation. That would lead to destroyed crops. Fights and looting, And the government would not be able to keep things under control. Especially once the military starts to starve themselves. Basically the entire northern hemisphere in this scenario would be devoid of civilization. There would be no powerhouse economies ready to take over what is left of the world. And even the southern nations would be far too busy trying to survive than make any kind of attempt to capture the ruined north. Likely not for a century. I do think there is a way it could have been mentioned in this video. Lets say in this 80s scenario. The world economic crisis has badly crippled Japan's export industry. The far right seizes on this opportunity and says Japan should return to being an empire. They seize power and then try to ally with this new Russia but at this point apparently Russia has decided on its own to launch. Leaving Japan on its own. Everyone is too busy to care about this new Japanese Empire but with massive crop failure and a collapsing society. This new Japan was not able to launch any kind of military operations before it fell apart. Again not trying to be insulting. Japan in the 80s was indeed an economic powerhouse. It is just that in the 80s a nuclear exchange would be so extreme that it not getting any hits would not even matter. Oh not part of the fictional scenario but Indeed returning to that economic era would be bad for Japan in my opinion. The nation already has a serious problem with people basically living at their jobs. And that has led to the population rapidly getting older. In the long run it means higher taxes and more demand for care for the elderly than what it can provide. Now if that economic event happens while at the same time there is lots of reform to prevent the kinds of issues that cause people to only think about their jobs. That would work. I just don't want to see Japanese culture fade over the decades because its population has declined so much.

At that time, Japan was economically powerful, but the military aspect was too dependent on the United States, so international remarks were low. And in economic negotiations against the United States, Japan had to compromise on disadvantaged demands if the military alliance was taken out. At that time, conservatives such as the Liberal Democratic Party said, "It would be okay if there was a Japan -US alliance." Conversely, leftists such as the Japanese Socialist Party and the Japanese Communist Party said, "If there is Article 9 of the Japanese Constitution, there will be no war." One small problem I've noticed in this video and some of your other videos is that you often say "50 continental states", but we only have 48 continental states. Hawaii is just an island so it's not connected to the continent and Alaska is not touching other US states so it's not considered a continental state.

A lot to consider with this one... The whole "first responder strike" is a unique concept, I'll give you that. Just seeing everyone protesting their forms of government and shutting down the whole world was crazy. (Ireland better pay the Benny Benson estate royalties.) And then we got the Russian... Reich. Okay, first off, "Reich" is a German word. Second, how would any cognizant Russian let that fly? My guess is that the hardliners won, replaced the USSR with the Reich for 'lulz', and stated their mission goal was to win over the Russian (former Soviet) people through starting a glorious conquest or burn it all trying. But there's so much guesswork to get from "down with [insert economic model here]" to "yet another EAS scenario that ends in a nuclear holocaust". This channel has come up with a lot of immersive scenarios over its lifetime, and the work in putting together all these clips is solid, but this was sloppy. (For example: The 50 US states are not 'continental'. They're just the 50 states. 49 states are 'continental', as in they're in North America. 48 states are 'contiguous', as in linked by land to at least another state. And don't forget the District of Columbia and the US territories.) I mean, I had my fun with this one, but this story was overall not the best on this channel. (And Reagan mispronounced 'Reich'.)

Would love to see an EAS involving the Cold War. Don't forget in an alternate timeline. The Cold War almost turned into a blazing hot one because the Russians wanted back Dr. Sokolov. The Russians knew he was capable of building an experimental nuclear tank that could shoot nuclear warheads from anywhere on the planet, even from rough terrain. It's a fair trade considering we secretly sent in a covert U.S. Army Ranger with the codename "Naked Snake." Also what pissed off the Russians was that the mother of our special forces, "The Boss." Attained the "Davy Crockett" with the help of a rouge Russian general and helped to blow the nuke in one of their random jungles. 🎵 "I'm still in a dream... Snake Eater." 🎵

The Irish one reminds me of a weird Socialist propaganda snippet that was usually found on children's DVDs in El Salvador back in the 2000s. I think it was a chant glorifying a former leader of the guerrilla with a weird red rext over a black screen. Really random and always scared the crap out of me.
